So, I rolled the CB out of the garage yesterday, gave it a bath in the grass, and to dry it off I went on a putt around the block. That felt so good I kept going and continued on for a bit more. Idaho temp. was about 45 F at the time, no jacket or gloves. Surprised myself with a run of about an hour on the back roads near my place. Cold as ice but just didn't want to quit. We have views of the Tetons to the east and the Sawtooth to the west. A quick lap around St. Anthony and then knock on it back to the Ranch. Really, really missed getting out and enjoying the very best bike I've ever owned. My first CB was a junk yard rescue, the cruisers were ok, and the Goldwing was a beast, but my CB is just right Goldie Locks!

That’s pretty country. Just curious — were you around in ‘76 when the dam let go?

The only way this story gets any better is if you had started off in another state. (I had to check your listed location to make sure, lol.)

Sounds like an awesome ride but 45 degrees with no jacket and gloves? You are tough!

Yes, Lone Ranger, Never even heard of the Teton Dam failure until I moved here five years ago. I lived in So. Cal. until relocating to Idaho. On the very day of the failure I was on a fishing trip in Oregon at the Rouge River. I was fly fishing for trout and steelhead for fourth of July with my girlfriends father. Never really was able to make him my father in law, but he was the greatest. He rented a cabin for a week near Medford in Trail, OR. and we were living the dream. His daughter, said No when I asked her to get married and joined the Navy in order to go to medical school. Go figure, but it all worked out for the best.....

Houtman (Lumberjack) Ultimately she is the better. She became an MD in pediatrics and when I ran into her 20 years ago, she was a big shot at a health insurance company. I'm just a trout bum and that's why I live on the Henry's Fork of the Snake river. One of the worlds best locations for native cutthroat trout and hybrids......
