  CB1100 parts discontinuation has started
Posted by: bflint - 11-09-2020, 07:13 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (24)

Handlebar weight disappeared from my 2014 CB1100. Parts fiche shows chrome weight is available but chrome "Oval Screw (6x65) 90191-MK6-670" is "Discontinued". Dealership confirms. Can not find anywhere.

  Low rattle on cold start.
Posted by: shahyaan_imp - 11-09-2020, 02:09 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (22)

Heya

Is it normal for the CB to rattle a tad bit when cold? This engine is so smooth and quiet compared with my Harley. I’m guessing it’s the valve clearance that then shrinks when warm.

Contemplating selling 2014 full exhaust with 2 miles on them
Posted by: teamvisegrip_imp - 11-08-2020, 03:27 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (17)

Hey guys... so help me out here if you can. I removed the full exhaust on my 2014 the day I bought it with just 2 miles on the clock. Replaced it with the full Yoshimura System. I am in clean-out mode and thinking to list them.

They are all but brand new.

If I was to list them on eBay what do you think they are worth or should I hold onto them?

I looked up what they would cost of bought off Partszilla and was shocked.

  Nova Scotia - August 2021

Looking for recommendations of not-to-miss motorcycling routes / locations in Nova Scotia. Current plan is to fly to Halifax, hire a bike locally, and spend 5-6 days touring the coastline with overnights in B&B’s or nice hotels.

If you’ve been, where would you go again? What would you not bother with? Thanks in advance.

  accidents - an unpleasant subject
Posted by: j3gq_imp - 11-07-2020, 06:35 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (43)

On motorcycles, I had 2 minor accidents in a row, at about age 20 or 22. Next a very close call. Stopped riding for a while, and started again a few years later. Since then, no more wracks, but of course quite a few close calls. Must be now some 35 years without getting hurt and nothing bent. I wish I could say look at this, but unfortunately I have to admit, I've just been lucky a few times. Now, here is the question I ask myself:

In today's traffic (density), not in Utah! ...
given the velocity of traffic,
with the number of trucks around
(and S.U.V.s the size of trucks),
... can an average biker, age 60 +/-10, defensive driver/rider, following the written rules and common sense ... still avoid getting hurt in 2020/21 ?

More precisely, in case you had an accident lately - in retrospect - what was the main cause and could you have avoided that accident and how (other than by staying at home Wink?

Went back to the dyno today...
Posted by: PowerDubs_imp - 11-05-2020, 09:14 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (20)

First pic is today compared to last time in 2018 before my accident.

Change is now no longer on the stock ECU- Don Guhl advanced ign timing and raised rev limiter.

I’m still controlling fueling myself with power commander and auto tune.

I also removed the TSR airbox inlet plate (which I did prove on the dyno to make more power than the stock inlet boots).

Instead I put the stock boot back on, but added couple filtered holes - one on boot side and 3 on other airbox side. Reason? The TSR plate made an induction noise I didn’t like.

Reference- http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=15762

So here is today’s dyno- modified ign, and removed TSR air holes as shown

And here is today’s dyno compared the the first dyno I did on this bike- Inhad already installed the Staintune muffler, so no totally ‘stock’ run- sorry.

I still need to add a little fuel up top.

Funny thing- the WBO2 sensor for the auto tune takes up a good portion of the exhaust pipe. Once I remove it and put in the block off plug- it will flow more air and make more power.   what future?
Posted by: franov_imp - 11-05-2020, 08:39 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

looking around about the various new motorcycle models which are being presented in those days (the Ducati Multistrada V4 is stunning!) I was left with a bitter flavor in my mouth: it really seems that, in Europe, due to the Euro.5 restrictions there will be no more cb1100ex!

what do you think about the future of the model? will Honda adapt the current cb1100 later in 2021 to comply with euro5; will they make a complete new bike, maybe with a liquid cooled engine?

I'm curious about your thoughts Smile

  Only 1st gear slipping
Posted by: Still.Cruzin_imp - 11-04-2020, 10:00 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (24)

Hello, for some reason I've notice that it doesn't pick up speed at high rpms in 1st, only in first. What could be causing this issue? I'm considering replacing the whole clutch assembly, but if any answers can be given you'd really save me some change on my pockets.
