Mount an USB on handlebar. I want to place a USB on the handlebar; and asked ; if I have to lift the fuel tank from the screw next to the battery; a little or should I let go of the gas hose; and the connector. that's a question. the other: the battery to connect the cables; if I disconnect it; Everything returns to normal after reconnecting it or an alarm will go off and I will have to go to a Honda mechanic workshop?

I was just enjoying my time cleaning and waxing my favorite leather jacket, got me thinking of other people would do it like this and how often, so I thought I'd collect some of your experiences and preferences when it comes to leather maintenance. You can imagine that desert riding is not very nice to the leather, sand in the air is abrasive and accumulates in all the little creases and stitches, leather dries out fast and get stiff, so having it always cleaned and protected goes a long way. I use different types of protection, from regular old shoe polish for my Stylmartin army style boots, to wax for the jackets and other leather shoes. I even use some automotive leather protectant sprays for my gloves because I found the gloves to be the toughest to maintain as they are very intricate in design and regular wax is difficult to spread and reach everywhere. I use a vynil/rubber/plastic spray for my dirt dime boots though because materials are perplexed throughout the boot, and I found that it does well with the leather parts of the boots too (it's the same thing I'd use for my motorcycles seat)

Any view and comments are appreciated, especially gloves maintenance ideas. Thank you!

My wife and I did a quick "driveway exchange" of gifts last night with our neighbor. Dave came out wearing a very nice Yamaha sweatshirt, and I commented on how cool it looks. He's a systems analyst for hire, and explained that he's working on contract for Yamaha.

Peering over my shoulder into the garage at my CB and Bonneville, he said that if I were interested in a new bike, he could get a substantial discount on a Yamaha. When he told me the percentage of the discount, my jaw hit my driveway. Possibly a "sell one of my bikes and walk into a new Yamaha for very little money" sort of discount.

My mind has been swirling over it. I'm in desperate need of new winter gloves, and went to a dealer yesterday to try some on, and found myself sitting on an XSR900...

If you marry a Greek woman, you will never go hungry. It also means that come Christmastime, you will have a phalanx of friends and family members anxiously awaiting a plate of her famous baklava. Anyone who has tried it, even the most ardent "I don't eat sweets" people have become hooked after one bite.

My wife has had so many recent health and personal challenges that most assumed that she would take the year off. So, the arrival of her little triangles of joy were appreciated that much more this year. And, this year's batch was made with walnuts and lemons provided by friends, making it more special.

My boss graciously gave us this week off, and the past few days have been gorgeous, so the best way to spend my time has been to make local drop-offs. Had to strap on the big trunk to hold the little boxes of treats. This has made for the most recreational riding I've done in the past few years, and it was great to spread some joy and make some relaxing side trips along the way.

Here's the SS Lane Victory in Los Angeles Harbor. I hadn't seen her for quite some time, and she's looking quite sad and in need of a paint job. If anyone here is as big a Steve McQueen fan than I am, you'll be interested to hear that the elaborate steam engine movie prop from The Sand Pebbles is located in one of the Lane Victory's cargo holds.

I am going to add some small bullet LED's to the engine bars on my 2018EX to increase other road users visibility of me. They will be always on so I don't need a handlebar switch which will save on wiring runs. I will power them off a relay which will be switched from a 12v source only on ignition. I was about to ask the forum for the best location of the switched live but thought I would do some investigating first.

Under the left hand side panel there were two wires marked "switched live for accessories". Well that was quick, thankyou previous owner and/or the dealer! That saved me a load of hassle and is in a good spot for my relay and cable runs. These cables come out of the Honda 4-way Sumitomo block which I take everyone has? I just don't know if these two cables are standard or have been added by someone else, they look factory.

Right, off to by a four way automotive relay with a Diode.

Like pdedse, I thought it was too nice not to go for a ride. We don't get many of these days where it's sunny and roads are dry. I went West into the wine country of Washington and Yamhill counties. The mountains were popping today! Stayed warm except for my finger tips--a good 54 mile jaunt. Bright and sunny today, so very inviting for a winter ride. Temps 43-45, but strong winds make it feel quite chilly.

First photo opp was from the James Gleason boat ramp near the airport. Not many private boats on the Columbia today, but dredges and tugs doing their thing with a plane landing at PDX.


You can take Marine Drive--which hugs the south side of the Columbia--right into Bridgeton Road--a neat area where there are some cool looking boats mored.

Took me awhile to find the St. John's Bridge, which traverses the Williamette River, which bisects Portland and runs north into the Columbia. The red line shows me getting lost several times...

But the wind blowing off the water from the Columbia and Williamette Rivers makes for cold air temp, fingers were getting numb.


From the St. John's, took hiway 30 towards Portland, and then on to the 405 bridge to cross the Williamette again. Traffic slowed so it was a good time to snap a photo:




Brrr...once I get cold, can't get warmed up. Time to head home, nice 60 mile outing that was "just to buy some guitar strings, be right back".
