  CB 1100 won't start
Posted by: GeorgiaRider_imp - 12-17-2020, 02:02 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (30)

Hey guys,

I went to crank my CB1100 yesterday and it wouldn't start. The lights and gauges work, but nothing happens when I hit the start button. I didn't hear the injectors turn on like they normally do so I'm assuming it's something to do with that. Has anyone else had issues with this?

Thanks

  OE Bridestone tires: My $0.02
Posted by: Scotty_imp - 12-16-2020, 01:39 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (12)

I recently replaced my tires with the Bridgestone BT-54R. OEM tire in OE sizes. I did my research and know that they are not long wearing, particularly the front due to minimal tread depth.
Anyway, with around 400 miles on them, maybe a bit less, I can report that I really like them. I'm getting good feedback from the tires in the twisties; when something slips a little, or moves in an unexpected way, I don't get the feeling of being on the ragged edge.
I just hope that front tire lasts - it already has me inspecting its wear. Yes, I'm diligent with tire pressure.

How to know if there's current leakage or battery is dying?
Posted by: zirconxi_imp - 12-16-2020, 01:39 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (11)

Hi all, I had a 9 months old AGM battery installed in my CB that is getting low to crank if I left the bike for 3 or more days. Had taken it out to shop for charging and shop had tested it and says everything is fine. But after I install the battery and left the bike for 3 more days, its getting low to start again. I had taken out the battery and charge it before, and left it after charged for a week before I install back, it crank ok, but after 2 more days it can't crank anymore. So how do I know if the bike is leaking current somewhere (my main suspect) or my battery is dying and can't hold current once I use it?
Do our CB use lots of current when the key is off??
Can I test if there's any leakage just by using multimeter? In normal circumstances I would just buy a new battery, but I am afraid the bike might have other problem other than battery....

2021 Rider Resolutions (Goals, Aspirations, and other such silliness)
Posted by: emptysea - 12-15-2020, 04:13 PM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (31)

It’s the time of year when we traditionally reflect on the previous twelve months and look ahead to the next twelve. This year, I suspect that many of us be spending more time looking forward to 2021 than looking back at 2020. I, for one, will get an extra boost this year from hearing what motorcycle-related things you have planned for ‘21.

Here’s a look back to the first “resolution” thread that I created a few years ago.....

Let’s see your Moto-aspirations for 2021!
