I was attempting to hook up by battery tender to the battery but when I went to remove the battery cover the screw holding in place is stuck. Not sure if someone used thread locker or what as it seems a small screw but I have now succeeded in stripping it.

Since the battery cover itself is plastic, can I just the cut the plastic and basically remove it out around the screw? I think I would have better leverage on the screw without the plastic.

In addition is the cover necessary other than to hold the tool kit? Does the battery actually strap in beneath the plastic cover or does the cover help to hold the battery in place? On other bikes I've owned the battery is usually immediately accessible once the seat is removed. If thats the case I'll probably just cut the cover out for now and be done with it.

Hi guys and girls, I have had the CB for a few weeks now and I like to muck about with YouTube so I posted a review of my bike and what I thought about it. You don't see too many owner reviews I will say. These are just my thoughts, you might not agree with them of course. Spoiler alert, I do like the bike .

This morning I installed a new OEM Yuasa batterie on my 2017 and when I took it for a ride this afternoon (50 miles) the CEL stayed on from when I started the bike . The bike runs perfect , 14 volt charging from bike and instant starting. The bike might have been without a batterie for 15 at the most. Does a code have to be reset on the 2017 , the CEL did not come on when I put a new batterie on my 2013 and 2014.
Can I reset it myself or does it need a dealer reset ? Dealer is close by for about $20 they did reset it a few years ago after an aborted O2 eliminator on my 2017.

Hey guys, so absolute nightmare. My 2014 CB has been in the shop since the beginning of June because i went to a mom and pop shop and somehow they have 5 star reviews but are lazy as all hell until you yell at them. I don't think they touched

my bike until i screamed at them to get my bike inspected so my registration wasn't late even with my 5 month pandemic registration extension... end rant....

but since he probably didn't touch my bike till now, he's saying the led headlight listed below i snagged on ebay (and i believe was recommended on here) is "incompatible"

and he can't find an adapter or bike with a similar headlight that he could snag parts from.... thoughts, is this accurate or is another case of extreme lazy and i should just take my friggin bike home!!!!

Yesterday I was going to take my 2017 for a 90 mile ride and th bike would not even turn over as the batterie was dead. Last use was only 3 weeks ago. This was the first time I used my NOCO booster starter and it worked perfectly as the bike started immediately.

This morning I removed the batterie and although I bought the bike in July 2017 the batterie was made on Feb. 02 2017 , so close to 4 years old.
When I used my very useful Testmate Sport batterie tester it showed that the batterie was bad and needed to be replaced. I ordered a new one from Honda Southern Power sport in Chattanooga : OEM Yuasa for just about $220 including shipping. I normally replace them anyway at 4 years old but was surprised that this one did not make it that long.

Another useful and cheap tool to use is the Testmate mini voltage checker , if you have a SAE connector on your batterie post than you just plug it into this and you can see cranking and charging volts.
