Fitted some BikeVis bullet LED's to the CB the last couple of days. I took the side panel aux connector and triggered a relay to power them. The current draw is so low I didn't need a relay but did want to just switch them on ignition and segregate them from Honda's electrics.

I also used their modulator which twinkles the lights for added effect. This is just a little video of how they look, I have a longer one going up in a few more days with the whole install.

I'm spending some Christmas money on a few new pairs of gloves.

A local shop is running a very good sale on Cortech leather gloves. They are classic "cafe" styles, some with more protection than others, and they have fun names like "The Bully", "The Associate", "The Slacker", etc.

They are all made from soft goatskin, and trying a few pairs on, a few were very comfortable on me. I picked up a pair of "Associate" gloves, and might go back for "The Bully", which offers some impressive protection measures.

Looking at reviews, Cortech gloves are all over the place. I'm curious if anyone here is wearing this brand, and how do they hold up?

Just saw this last night: 2013 CB1100 post on Craigslist in Greensboro, NC. Its been up a few days, 7500 miles $4500.

I don't know (yet) how to post pics or links. Think its the same one I saw couple years ago but was sold b4 I could decide. I have exact same bike, but expect the value of this bike to go up someday.

Sure is tempting but hey, w/Corona, cutbacks, & implications of a national budget nightmare looming, I gotta pass

The CB1100RS I'm getting will be my very first brand spankers new bike!!

Apart from sitting staring at it and grinning like a loon, is there anything I need to do other than making sure it left the Dealer's properly prepared/PDI'd, like chain tension, fluid levels and the like or should I be looking at the explicit checking of 'certain things'?

Do I need to do any special protection of bolt heads, shiny metal bits etc?

I've had sufficient new cars to get extremely blasé about them, basically get in/drive off, but for bikes this will be a whole new experience.

Advice and guidance from the assembled Hive will be most welcome.

Saw a guy in our shop, moving a client's CB backwards into a small corner - totally confident - no problem. And he seemed 5"5 and under 150 pounds. How did he do it ?
I looked, I asked, I tried myself. Here is the recipe I'd like to share, for your own testing with care:

- rider stands on the left side of his girl, engine off, left hand on the handle bar
- lean the bike (carefully) against your hip (those hips can get a little brittle with time )
- side-stand UP (no discussion here !) ... you could trip over it !!!!!
- right hand on the saddle (or structure nearby)

AND here is the one important element that was new to me:
= front wheel straight (to go straight) OR full turn (left or right)
= never, ever anything else than full turn or straight.

This stabilizes the move signif - it works fine for me.

Hi All
My light and low beam are not working, however the overtaking high beam flasher works and the low beam flickers on during engine starter engaged during starting. Anybody here experienced anything similar before I start quessing.

I'm planning to fit some saddlebags to the CB1100 and will have to move the indicators if I'm to ride the bike two up—which I'm planning to do occasionally. I bought a Saddlemen universal relocator, but I can't see that the licence bracket will be sturdy enough to support it given it hangs off the brake light housing. Seems to me that adding a couple of indicators, no matter how light, runs the risk of putting too much strain on the structure. I suspect I'll also have to modify the Saddlemen bar to get the OEM signal mountings to fit well.

Does any one have any experience with the Saddlemen universal relocator. If so, I'd appreciate any thoughts, guidance or advice.

Went looking for the spare connectors behind my left side cover 2014 Standard.
Could not find. There is no clear plastic cover in the maze of wires, nor are there any open circuit wires. Have no idea where to start looking at the wiring diagrams. Is my 2014 a 1100 or 1100A? There are wiring diagrams for each in the Factory Honda Repair Manual.
I plan to install Oxford Heated Grips. The controller has a switch called "Battery Saver Mode" which I assume is the Power On/Off switch. The box says if you forget to turn the grips off, the unit will shut down automatically, thus saving battery draw. How neat is that? The unit comes with ring adapters for connection to the battery, so maybe the Honda spare connectors will not be needed, but I am curious to know if any other 2014 Standard owners have found these connectors. I might want to use them for another device in the future.

CBS Combined braking system. Hello ; it is incorporated in the 2013 models; when you brake with the rear brake ... But in the 2014 model ???? is still maintained ????
