Wet days are coming to my area and as I often get off the beaten path along my usual route I wanted to switch to something with at least a bit of wet dirt and mud grip. Of course I don't want a full-time knobbie because I still spend a lot of time on the road and in traffic, and there is a good offer on the Scorpion STR at my friend's shop, any experience anyone may have with this setup on the CB1100 is highly appreciated. Thanks!

'14 CB1100 STD 5 speed

As I am interested in the Pipemasters 4 into 4 this morning I put two O2 sensor eliminators on my 2014 to see how the bike would run . I have one on my 2013 and that runs perfect with the Moriwaki 4 into 4 The O2 sensor eliminators did not work on my 2017 as check engine light came on and it went in to "limb'" mode.
I gave the 2014 a 90 mile ride today and the bike runs great , seems stronger . The one thing I did notice that the gas mileage had dropped quite a bit compared with before (same type of driving ) Is this normal , I pulled the outer plugs but they did not seem "rich " I do not care about the extra cost of gas but just a little more inconvenient. Any other riders with O2 sensor eliminators on a 2014 DLX ?
I want to cover all aspects before ordering the Pipe Master.

handlebar risers. I just saw that my CB1100 ex 2015 Europe; It has 2.5 cm of handlebar risers. I measure 1.85 and known that it makes the weight more centered; It is advisable ? I know that the easiest thing is to remove and test; But this original series bike has always been said to be very comfortable and I don't like to vary the steering elements on my bikes. I had not noticed .

The second poll inquires how many CB owners own RLETs, and how many, and whether installed or not.

Last week I sold some CB 1000 parts to a guy in BC Canada , value $ 50 .
The USPS was $ 55 to send and UPS was $ 39 , of course I went with the UPS.
When the package was delivered the buyer had to pay a COD charge of 40 for handling and tax to get his package.
If I had used the USPS would they also charged that amount ? or only tax ?
It must be very costly to import things into Canada , I have bought thousands of dollars in MC parts and gear from Germany and Japan and never paid any import duty.
Peter or others : what is the scoop ?

Full Circle with BMW HP2

I had 722 miles on the Niken GT and was really enjoying that bike for 13 months. I really never did get off road, just a few, smooth, dirt roads. The front end did very well.
A couple of weeks ago a Verizon tech was out on the island doing a last job before he put in for retirement. He was fascinated with the Niken and offered to buy it.
Just as that went through an HP2 popped up for sale at Max BMW almost all stock with 10,500 miles. As one of my favorite bikes I’m always checking for new ones on the market. BMW only imported 225 to the US for one year.
The strange thing is that this is the only bike I ever did a long trip on. A week of riding, 1800 miles round trip.

It’s a great island bike, it will handle the dual track trails better. The Niken had a front tire in each wheel track with the rear riding the hump in between the two and sliding off the side all the time.
I’ve always had a soft spot for these bikes, glad a second chance along.
Although extremely tall, “38 inch seat height” it’s also light weight, 385 dry weight with 110 hp.
The bike is being delivered to the Cape Cod dock for me on Dec 23rd.
My first HP2 was long before the CB1100 not sure I posted too much about that one.
The R9T did OK out here, posted a few trail photos.

Good day all, due to recent pandemic lockdown, i haven't been to any ride further than 30km. Yesterday i went for a short 25km high rev (1st 2km below 3k rpm, after that 4k-7k rpm) warm up ride. My CB exhaust have lots of "mellow" popping sound when throttle off this time when compare to running long distance high rev. Its not loud and sound nice. Just wondering why i can't get it when i rode more than 50km. And will these popping hurt the CB? I kind of like it. Exhaust is aftermarket but comform to environment act.

Combined effects of lockdown, complex family issues, and not being able to smell Christmas trees or my wife's holiday baking due to lingering effects of COVID have filled me with what I can only describe as... festering, silent rage.

I took a mental health day yesterday to sit quietly in my garage and apply my burgeoning JB Weld skills to craft a camera mount for my new Scorpion T510, as I had done successfully with my two R420 lids. The chin of this helmet presented a unique challenge, due to its complex shapes and curves, but there appeared to be enough room to place a mount.

I think it looks good, and the project helped me relax a bit.
