Its the 3rd annual Barber Small Bore festival and were having a fine time riding around the park and seeing everybodys wacky creations and vintage mini bikes.

Fun fact about that red yoshimura Drag bike, it wasnt all that fast. Some guy on a massively hot rodded Honda Spree completely roasted it during the drag race practice period, but then, that spree roasted almost everybody...

3D printed strap adapters for the CB1100 mounting pegs
Posted by: LayerCake_imp - 06-02-2022, 02:31 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (33)

I could not figure out if the pegs on the CB1100 are meant for any specific purpose or piece of luggage so I designed and 3D printed some adapters to make my straps look neater on my SW-MOTECH PRO Roadpack.

If anyone is interested, rideapart.com has an on camera vid of a lap of the Isle of Man TT course. I don't know how these guys do it, I was dizzy before half way around. Then came the mountain section. And you thought you were fastExclamation

Just saw this article linked on another forum, but have been hearing people complain about Bike Bandit for quite some time. I had stopped using them, hope nobody here is waiting for parts!

  Helmet Lock?
Posted by: Wagonpeddler_imp - 05-31-2022, 05:48 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

The helmet lock doesn't close enough to prevent the helmet from being removed, even with both metal catches from the helmet on the hook. Thought there might be some type of adjustment for the travel....couldn't find any. Possible that the lock tab got bent somehow? Hesitate to try to bend back.
Probably some silly thing I'm overlooking.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Fun fact about this video, user SCCBrider was tracking me turn for turn on his Goldwing Tour the entire time. That machine is wildly capable.

  2022 Honda Monkey
Posted by: Olof_imp - 05-29-2022, 02:56 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (7)

Two years ago I, for some reason, sold my brilliant four-speed Honda Monkey 125 and have regretted it ever since. So, when my local dealer (who knows my weaknesses) casually mentioned tha he'd managed to secure the very last 2022 five-speed Monkey coming to Sweden I could not resist. It arrived last week, just before lunch on Wednesday.

By chance I was around so three hours later I was on my way home (setup is hilariously simple and the plates were already there). First impression was, "hey I know you!" Its the same genius package of build quality, comfort and feel-good. The new gearbox felt better than I recalled the four-speed to be, both in terms of spacing between the gears and switch feel. The new longer stroke engine also felt having a bit more mid range poke than before.

Honda has further improved the Monkey with stronger rear shocks and some other details, so overall the riding experience was very pleasant. What Honda did not do, however, was to replace the often out-of-round Vee Rubber tires with better stuff. So when the Monkey went bouncy at 35 mph I decided to order a pair of Pirelli SL-60 when I got home. No big deal, covered by warranty and switching is a breeze. However since I foolishly let my old nimble front stand follow the previous Monkey to it's new home I had to come up with something to support the front. Leftovers from kitchen work resulted in this - not pretty but functional (sort of). So there we are. Early days but all smiles so far.

  Easy bar end weight removal
Posted by: brian10x_imp - 05-29-2022, 02:46 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (6)

Just roll the grip back, insert 7/8" open end (or for you metric users, 38.4 kilograms)and pound the crap out of it with a mallet.

Easy-peasy. You destroy the retaining clip, but, you aren't putting it back in, are you?

Second pic is the Amazon throttle lock. Kind of a POS. Had to install a hardware store washer to make it work.

Wire colors not matching the diagram (2013 A / 2017 NA)?
Posted by: LayerCake_imp - 05-27-2022, 09:21 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (16)

I'm planning to add a smart turn system and smart brake module to my 2017 CB 1100 NA/RS as a no cut mod.
I stumbled across a wiring diagram for the 2013 and later CB 1100 A.
Is there a difference in the wiring colors for the 2017 since it has LEDs?
The diagram worked fine for other things like the option plug that I'll use to attach the brake module but for the indicator switch it's pretty different even the number of wires does not match.
