Hey guys, I recently installed a pcv with stock map and full arrow exhaust and love it. It does seem to run a tad rich but the throttle response is much better compared to stock.I found a local dyno near me that can tune my pcv for my bike but I was wondering will I gain much from getting tuned or is it really not worth it?

I raced dirt bikes as a teenager, and had my share of crashes. I've ridden scooters and motorcycles around the world as an adult - even in russia and ukraine which are very dangerous - but done so infrequently I did ditch a bike on a tram track a few years back in the rain (bad judgement). So I'm not ignorant or incompetent. I'm just not a frequent rider. My only interest is recreational - mostly coffee-shop tourism (I write for a living). I'm short but strong. I have zero interest in speed. I'm a paranoid driver. And my family is in the funeral business so I've cleaned up enough bodies in the middle of the night that I fully understand the risks and need for gear. WHile I'm a fan of Triumphs, I think the CB1100 is the most elegant bike there is. If it was a 600 to 650 I wouldn't ask this question, but just out of due diligence, am I asking for trouble by buying an 1100?

Well, just as they have for all of my previous attempts, the Motorcycle Gods conspired to keep me from participating in the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. In 2015, I threw out my back days before the ride, and waved the riders off at the start of the ride while holding a cane with the other hand. Other years, family emergencies, work trips, etc.

I had my CB1100 ready to go, had my most dapper outfit chosen (I don't dress up these days, that was a feat in itself, and required a vest acquired from a local Salvation Army store). Then, two days before, I caught a bug... a home test confirmed I didn't snag a second round of Covid, but a bad cold at the least. Got a day's rest in bed, pumped myself with sinus and flu pills, and we were off to the races.

Mrs. Gone came to see me off. A week of gloomy days cleared for Sunday's ride, and it couldn't be better riding weather. Out of the 200+ bikes that came to participate, the oldest was a '51 BMW. The "You gotta see this" bike was a custom BMW built on NDT Jeep tires. But, even the CB1100 got some attention. There were no others on the ride, which sort of surprised me, but at the same time, didn't. I got a few comments, like "Huh, I've never seen one of these", "Are these getting valuable yet?" and "Is this one of the modern ones?"

During the kickoff speeches, it was announced that the Orange County riders group had raised almost $70k for mens health causes, the 14th highest worldwide. When the ride kicked off, everything went smoothly enough, but, with over 200 bikes riding up a popular beach road on a sunny Sunday afternoon, the ride became a bunch of small groups, and although I had a great time, I was reminded why this is my one and only attempt at a large group ride each year.

I ran into a few friends I had made at the kick-offs for the previous rides, and made a few new ones. All in all, a good day for a good cause.

You don't see a Honda I4 chopper every day...

Anyone found a good after,arket LED headlight upgrade for the 2013-2014 CB1100s? ideally, something which does not require removal/replacement of the entire headlight assembly. Hoping to avoid the questionable Chinese import ones which can overheat/melt plastic/burst into flames.

Nicknamed the "East Coast Ride of Wonders", it was an excuse for two kind and generous forum members Inhouse Bob and Empty Sea to help a third, yours truly, capture 4 of the last 5 states I needed to complete my quest to ride all of the lower 48 states on a motorcycle.

These 4 states were all on the east coast. Delaware, Connecticut, New Jersey and Rhode Island, but would require Sea travelling from Chicago Illinois thru Indiana to Ohio to pick me up, then on thru West Virginia, Maryland, to Virginia to meet up with Bob.



State #44 was Delaware



Getting New Jersey required a hour and 10 minute Ferry ride but first Sea had to get through Security



On the other side of Delaware Bay was state #45 New Jersey



We spent the first night in Atlantic City New Jersey, weher we took a stroll down the infamous Board Walk

and that night we stayed in State # 47 Rhode Island in a cool little motel in a town called Narragansett on the Atlantic shoreline

We headed for Pennsylvania to meet up with forum member # 4 Kiowa Eagle so we could celebrate his and mine birthdays

I "discovered" (new to me, at least) powdercoating some years back and love what it does for a part. I've powder coated a few items on my CB, but never hurts to get new ideas....so, what have you all powdercoated to individualize yours?

I've done:

a) the pipes (ceramic) in chrome - not as good as plating, of course
b) OEM engine guards (black to match the frame, mine is a 2014 std)
c) rear rack (also black)

Hello friends. I am replacing throttle cables on my 2014. I have gotten as far as removing the tank and some of the vacuum lines that are in the way. Any tips or tricks to getting the cable locked into the throttle flapper? Should I remove my airbox or disassemble in other ways. Thank you in advance. Cheers

Anyone modify an OEM CB1100 seat? Not asking about swap to aftermarket. Anyone have one re-foamed? Just curious.

Bought my 2014 as NOS in Aug2020. Anyone find any NOS ones after that?
