Just curious if anyone else has experienced any low speed shimmy on their CB? I only have about 100 miles in so far (damn rain) and noticed it today while riding. It's not too bad, but I don't get any on the XR 650L at all. I check the tire pressure (Dead on at 36 and 42 psi) and snugged all of the front end bolts. I didn't hit the steering head though.
I did noticed that the front tire does not have any wheel weights on it though. Just wondering if this is a characteristic of the bike before I take her back to the dealer for a check.

Just installed their Rear Alurack long with the Journey TC42 Top Box. I also put on their optional back pad for the wife. Quality is excellent and fit was great as well. The rack fits really nice and the welds are very clean. Ordered mine from motomachines.com Here is a quick video showing how they look on the bike.

I'm getting ready to take the plunge on a CB1100 and I'm trying to find out how this thing does 2 up and would like to hear from anyone who has any passenger experiences. I'm looking to get the Honda rear rack and the NC Plexistar 2 and am looking for a nice passenger backrest.

68 Honda CB 750. 67 hp @9000 rpms. Weight 491 wet

72 Kawasaki Z-1 900.... 82 hp @8500 rpms. Weight 511 dry

80 Suzuki GS 1100 ..... 87 hp @ 8000 rpms Weight 563 wet

78 Yamaha XS 1100 ...95 hp @ 8500 rpms. Weight 630 wet

2013 Honda CB1100 ....87 hp @ 7500 rpms. Weight 540 wet.

Now I also had a 2001 Yamaha FZ 1 with 125 hp that weighed 510 pounds. Its an amazing machine. Trouble is most of those horses come stampeding in between 8,000 and 12000 rpms. Personally, I never rode in that rev range, 100 % of my riding was below 6000 rpms and the FZ made plenty of power for me below 6000 rpms. According to the dyno at 6000 rpms the FZ1 is making 65 hp. The CB will possibly be making more hp than the FZ in the rev range I rode in.

My ST 1300 makes about 92 horses @ 6000 rpms (and peak at 112 hp @8000 rpms).... Thats pretty good, and a little more powerful than the CB 1100 for real world riding, but it weighs 716 wet.

Just ordered the black K FAC vintage one piece exhaust from web bike. After much research and about 3 different versions (yoshi, moriwaki, and K factory) I decided on the K FAC pipe. from what I have heard it sounds amazing and has the easy bends that the yoshi pipe has. Now I just gotta wait for it to arrive and install it!!


Also TSR highway pegs, Renthal bars, bar end mirrors and new grips coming soon.

I wasn't real pleased with the long muffler I installed on the CB, so started looking for a shorter one. Found one made by VooDoo, 17" long and could buy it from Amazon. Delivered today and I put it on. I'm a happy camper! Making a sound check video and will post it on youtube later.

I had never heard of this Honda before happening upon it via the Internet. I'm not even sure in which markets it was made available. This particular version of the CB400 Four (NC36) was produced in 1997 and 1998. A beautiful little bike in my opinion. Is anyone here familiar with this bike?

Cruised up to my driveway, which is on a steep little mountain road, and looked up to notice my neighbor's wheel-crazy German Shepherd busting through the lame child-gate at the top of her stairs. Cussed hound will go after anything on two wheels and already attacked a neighbors dog and chewed it all to hell. The cur is uphill from me about 80 yards away and I am still straddling my bike with the engine running and sidestand up. It launches from the top of the stairs like a thoroughbred going for the Triple Crown and I get a shot of adrenaline just exploding into my body because I know this dog is mean and wants to chew something up. The adrenaline just put everything into slomo; I hit the kill switch, put down the stand, and got off the bike, coming around to the front of the bike and facing the dog in a very aggressive wrestling posture, screaming at it, telling it what I was about to do to it. Apparently my alpha dog trick worked (good thing I watch the Dog Whisperer) and the hound got submissive at the last second, rolled its eyes up at me, and slunk away with the owner, who showed up a few seconds later.

I was shaking like hell and heart rate was way up when I realized I had on my helmet, full riding leathers, heavy boots, and those gloves that have the nasty solid plastic knuckles. It would have been a hell of a fight. Hope the mangy thing doesn't get out the next time I come back from road cycling. I'd hate to have to scare it off with a water bottle.

Bike has about 200 miles and I am starting to briefly open it up. Break it in fast and it'll be fast, right? Anyway the thing has a nice strong kick above 7K, pulls hard to 8K, in 2nd gear. Really does feel like 80+ HP. I know some dyno runs have shown RWHP in the low 80s. I believe it. A pleasant surprise.
