| Russell Seat anyone? |

Are there any Cb1100 riders out there that have or will have a Russell Day Long seat? They have been making motorcycle seats for a while now and I always hear some good things about them. If so, please chime in and let us CB1100 riders hear about it. By the way guys; I like my CB1100 better than my 2011 BMW RT1200. And my 2011 Victory Crossroads that came after the BMW. So think about that one!!
God Bless..

I thought you guys might like to know what I found out about that beautiful red paint. I have mentioned before my friend and I are putting sidecars on CB's. My friend Mike is having his painted red on the top half and silver on the bottom half.
The red couldn't be matched by the best experts because it is so exotic. So, they had to order the paint from Honda (in NYC).
First Honda said they couldn't get it yet because it was too new in this country. Then they decided to cross check the paint code and found that the same color was used on the 2012 Goldwing (someone may need to know that sometime for touch-up).
The painter said he would need almost exactly one quart for the sidecar. Here's what gets me: The paint costs $240 a quart!

I am shocked on how little I can find on anything Mugen. The catalog on their website is from 2009.. I really like this chain guard, but yet I can find nothing on it. Has anyone spoken to Samuraider about anything Mugen? Just asking before I write him.
Thanks

Gentlemen,
I've obviously been having a lot of fun with my new CB1100. At some point I'd like to take this bike on a long trip up the coastline in California but after an hour or so I find the stock seat uncomfortable and I keep sliding forward. I think the stock seat on the CB1100 looks perfect on this bike however and I am loath to change it. I ride two up on a regular basis so he gunfighter type solo seat would not work for me. I have had Corbin seats built for some of my other motorcycles and have been very happy with them, especially after they break in. Their catalog offering for the CB1100 on their website looked a little too different from stock for me so I called them up and asked them if they would build a custom seat, deleting all of the tuck and roll stitching, deleting the holes, mounting brackets, and leather flaps that are incorporated in order to accommodate their optional backrest, and with no welts. I wanted the leather Corbin seat to duplicate the smooth black vinyl of the stock seat as closely as possible. They were happy to make me a seat as I requested it and did not charge me for the modifications.
Although I've only gone for a short ride so far so I cannot comment yet on long-term comfort, this seat positions me farther back, does not cause me to slide forward, the leather seating area is more comfortable than the vinyl on the stock seat, and because of its shape a much greater percentage of my butt is in contact with, and supported by, this seat and it certainly seems more comfortable so far. The passenger part of the seat is definitely more comfortable as well as being slightly higher. The cost of the seat was $453, about the same as many of the non-custom seats that are not made of genuine leather that are listed on the Japanese websites.
The first three photos below are of my new Corbin seat. The second three photos are of the stock seat taken from the same angles. The last photograph is of the standard Corbin seat for the CB1100 incorporating their tuck and roll stitching which many people may prefer. All the best.
