What size are the mounts needed to install highway pegs? 1" or 1 1/4"?
Happy 4th everybody!
Actually I found specs saying 27mm or 1 1/16". So brackets come in 1" & 1 1/4". Anyone put a set on yet, what size?

I dispensed with the red rear side reflectors when I copied Chip's license plate mod. What about the yellow side reflectors on the forks? They appear to be glued on. (Does the service manual say different?)
Bikes in the Japanese market don't have them, and I think the bike looks a lot better without them. I know US manufactures are required by NTSB / DOT regulation to add them, but as an owner/operator do I need to keep them on the bike? Is this something the police are going to focus on?

| Shad SH-29 Top Case |

I wanted a top case for the bike to carry "commuting" stuff like the half-cover, rain suit, etc. The dealer installed the rack, so I looked at the Honda factory case. With shipping it's almost $700!
I found Shad's SH-29 online and ordered it. It comes with everything you need for under $100. The base plate fits the tail rack like it was made for it. Installation took 10 minutes. The case comes in a number of colors; I ordered red. The case color is lighter than the bike's, and it doesn't have the metal flake. But it's pretty close, and at a glance you might think it came with the bike.

Is better than ours. Been raining hard for the last half hour and it appears its going to be an all day soaker. Guess My wife and I are canceling our planned ride.
For those that have sunny skies and plan to get out, have fun and ride safe!

| "Combined ABS" Sticker |

Being I paid for ABS, I wanted the OEM sticker that the European bikes come with. Unlike those European models, I decided to put mine above the gas cap.
I bought it from eBay, it's OEM Honda, and it shipped from Japan. A search of "Honda Combined ABS" should pull-up any current items on eBay.
Some auctions will describe the sticker as "white", but it's actually silver.

It keeps getting better and better.
Today I went on flashing reserve at 146.8 miles
Went 33.1 miles on reserve
Got gas at 179.9 miles
Took 3.286 gallons
55 mpg.
It may be possible to go 200 miles on a tank.
I'll keep pushing it for you guys until I find the limit...at which point I 'll be pushing it lol
