Here’s a short report on Buell footpegs which cost a staggering $38.95 + shipping at http://www.grharley.com/Rider_Footpeg_Ki...6.1ad.htm. I believe Fuzzy was first to install them.

The pegs are aluminum. They are nearly 0.10” too thick to fit inside the CB’s footpeg mounting brackets. Using a flat file with fairly aggressive tooth pattern, it took me about 15 minutes to resize each one. The back of the Buell pegs also need some fitting so the pegs stop at the right angle to the frame. All in all about it took me about 45 minutes per side to remove the stock pegs, file the Buells and install them.

Since they are about an inch lower than stock, both the brake pedal and shift pedal need to be adjusted. I did the brake pedal as low as Honda says to go, and I’m still tweaking the shift pedal.





Combined with a taller seat, these footpegs are an inexpensive way to give taller riders more leg room.

Compared to the rest of the bike, the Buell footpegs look a little cheap. At some point I’m going to bite the bullet and invest in a pair of these GSG footpeg kits.

I'd like to get some front view pics or even just an opinion. Says easy install but I wonder is any drilling is required and they are just referring to not having to fiddle with cable lengths.

Got in about an hour ago. Full seat time report tomorrow after I've recovered and sorted thru about 200 pictures.

5 days, 3 states (Oh, W Va and Va) 1396 miles, too many curves to count, gteat roads, beautiful scenery, great company, great food, great weather ( well a little nippy early and foggy till 9:30 in the morning). All in all an awesome 5 days.


CB ran like a champ. I lubed the chain once mid week. Still think the stock seat is the weakest link lol. NC street shield Ex blocked a lot of wind, and contributed to the demise of a lot of bugs. Tourmaster Select soft luggage worked out perfectly.

I received a pair of Lute mirrors from Takashi just 60 hours after they were shipped. These mirrors and the ones on the White House Hakofugu bike are distributed by Tanax (http://www.tanax.co.jp) under the Napoleon brand name. I love their look and excellent adjustability (except for tilt – see below).

Silas and CBville purchased the Hakofugu mirrors (Napoleon calls them the Vincent). Both reported vibration issues. I can report the same with the Lute mirrors, although it’s not enough of an issue to abandon the mirrors.

The Lute offers a crystal clear view at 2500 RPMs and under. At 3000 RPM vibration is apparent and it’s difficult if not impossible to read license plates. Above 3500 RPM, cars appear to have 2 sets of lights. But the vibration never gets much worse and never bad enough to render the mirrors unusable. At 7000 RPM, I could easily see the (fuzzy) cars in the mirrors, receding very quickly I might add!

The mirrors use a standard 10mm right hand thread so you have to remove the chrome mounting “adapters” from the brake reservoir assemblies.

I’m 6’ 1” and with the mirrors tilted up as high as they could go, the view is a tiny bit too low. I’m going to rotate the brake reservoir a few degrees to solve that issue, and add some nylon or rubber washers to the base of the mirrors to reduce vibration.

Of the 3 sets of mirrors I’ve had, the stock mirrors give the best view but are the ugliest, the CB500f mirrors look great, give a excellent view but stick out too far for me, and the Lutes provide an acceptable view and look downright gorgeous. They’re staying on the bike.

Got a note from T-Rex in Dallas. They are looking for someone who has a CB there. They will make sliders, spools etc for their bike free so they can market same for the rest of us. I have their products on my Yamaha FZ1 and they are first class with out the price.

It adds a little grunt and pipe to the bike. Has enough noise when at low speed, and isn't noticeable at 70 on the freeway. I think it's about right for the bike. It has a nice "gurgle"[/li] [li]Like the short look and how it tucks under and out of the way.

I do like it, although I think in the end I might have just done a full exhaust like the [url=http://www.samurider.com/?p=6448]Moriwaki Short Full Exhaust. For some reason I didn't see that first, or didn't think I could retain the center stand, yet I saw a picture with it on Samurider with the center stand...

Bought the bike out of state and ride home was over 700 miles with lots of twisties in Arkansas and Oklahoma........fun way to break it in.

Hello there, I ride a 2009 triumph bonneville. At the time when I purchased it I was seriously considering a honda cb1100 but went with the triumph because I found it for a pretty good price.

I was hoping you guys could tell me how you like the throttle of your cb1100. The fuel injected bonnevilles have issues because of the emissions system (which I am working on getting off and tuned). Does the honda also have a secondary air injection which messes with the throttle, making it jerky?

Also how's the gas mileage? I hear the cb has a smaller gas tank with something like 40mpg- not sure what octane your bike requires (will be doing a lot more research on these forums in the near future).

Thanks for your time fellas, I hope to have two bikes in my garage at one point (the bonneville with the future 1200cc big bore kit and possibly the cb1100 or something like a royal enfield/moto guzzi)
