  Can you see me now?
Posted by: Ole - 03-15-2014, 11:47 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (10)

My last two bikes I had a pair of MotoLights. Very high quality 35 watt halogens. The guy who bought my bike wanted the MotoLights so I let them go.
Over on ADVrider on the vender forum, there are many LED's being sold. I bought a pair of 10 watt LED's for about $109 shipped to my door. They are Mondomotos MM10 Bullets. I made a mounting bracket out of some aluminum stock I had laying around. They are very solid little buggers.

I like them down low, it gives a better triangle for oncoming traffic to see me.

Will have to do a midnight run here and get them adjusted to my liking. If one car out of ten flash their brights at me, I know I have them set about right. Big Grin

  Spark Plug Replacement every 8,000mi
Posted by: Rolls_imp - 03-15-2014, 10:43 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (34)

My 2013 Service Manual and my 2013 US Owners manual both call out spark plug inspection every 4K miles and replacement every 8K miles. That's pretty frequent.

Could it be a double typo? I thought the Aussie Owners Manual I linked to online (2010?) called out inspections every 8K and replacement every 16K miles.

If you had an 8K service done on your bike, did they replace your plugs?

I saw this on SuperbikePlanet.com and thought it was pretty cool.

Oh, and the Daytona 200 (and other races) are NOT televised this year, but they're available here, online: http://www.fanschoice.tv/schedule

  G'day from Sydney
Posted by: jman10_imp - 03-14-2014, 02:19 PM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (10)

Hi Guys,

Just thought i'd say G'day and show some pic's of the bike. Only had it for around a month now but really digging the old school feel of the Honda. Being a super sport type bike rider for 20 years this was the first naked bike that really caught my eye and after a quick test ride I had to add one to the stable.

I have striped it down a bit which i'm sure a few members will hate but It's something I've always done to make a bike feel more mine I guess. Last picture is my other love, it's an 09 hayabusa I've owned since new.

Anyway, hope to chat soon and add/gain some knowledge on the CB and hopefully meet a few friends in the process, which is I guess why we are all here,

Cheers,

Jason.

Took this pic when I stopped for a rest break while returning from a trip to Dunnellon, FL this week. Near Folkston, GA along the edge of the Okefenokee Swamp.

  Easily removable windscreen suggestion?
Posted by: jimigalahad_imp - 03-14-2014, 05:39 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (17)

Loving my stock CB around my humble FL town but struggling to stay comfortable on my weekend rides to the coast (about 2 hours one way). Anything over 60mph is really doing a number on my neck as I try to keep my body and head steady and it's really been cutting into my desire to ride. I'm 5'8.5". So...
1) Is there a windscreen you'd recommend for this type of weekend highway warrior riding?
2) Can I remove it easily once I get home?

Thanks in advance.

  Handlebar Risers
Posted by: Mick65_imp - 03-13-2014, 07:03 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (34)

After yesterdays ride where I did about 35mls in one go, when I got home my shoulders and wrists were quite painful, my question is what size are our handlebars because I think I'm going to try some risers.
Think I need some which face back slightly.
Sorry if this has been asked before...Regards Mick.

  Loose side cover??
Posted by: davidsargee_imp - 03-13-2014, 01:06 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (9)

I noticed a couple of days ago that my side cover on the right side is loose at the top front corner. I fumbled with it a little, but I planned to install a 12 volt adapter under the seat so I waited to do that to re-attach the side cover, which I figured had just come loose somehow.

Upon installing the adapter, I removed the side cover to see what was wrong, the tab on the side cover is intact, but there doesn't seem to be anything to attach it to.

Anyone have any thoughts? I'm going to take it by the dealer and see what they say.

Huh

If you are an older rider, what do you wear riding your 1100?
Posted by: postoak_imp - 03-13-2014, 09:42 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (98)

I started out riding in full leathers for safety's sake, but I don't think it is quite the image for the CB1100. So what do YOU wear?
