Well, Sunday was a fab day and I was even more than happy when my wife said she would like a trip on the CB. We did about 70mls round trip, a few stops for tea etc, but she said that the seat was'nt too comfy, so we have decided to get a little padded protection. What do you think, Air or Gel.
Also she wants another bike of her own, last one she had was the BMW 650cs, this time its eigher Moto Guzzi Nevada or Yamaha 550 virago, I fancy the Guzzi, anymore suggestions.
Happy days Mick.

I had a successful TURP operation this passed Monday and felt great being at home sitting on a chair and sofa.
Yesterday the weather was nice and I went for a 100 mile bike ride .
Well, coming back I am now paying the price as I have blood in the urine again, even with the comfortable Corbin seat.
Lesson learned: listen to your surgeon and wife!

I've been reading about the Ninja 1000 in the magazines lately. Kawi came out with the current version last year, and made several major improvements to it this year. It's basically a super-sport with reasonable ergonomics, a windscreen, and custom luggage. The local dealer has a 2014 on the showroom floor with the OEM bags, and it's a gorgeous bike. ABS, TC, and stupid-fast. I want one!

Lord knows how much the insurance would be...especially here in South Florida, the Accident Capital of the World.

Not a darn thing. I have been riding and wrenching long enough where there are no mysteries about this bike. It is simplicity itself.
Only reason I joined was to occasionally inquire about tire choices (very limited and I did the research on my own anyway) and share my experience regarding the BT45's, which are working brilliantly.
What am I going to ask? What is the best pipe? What map can I use on a Power Commander? How to defeat the speed limiter? How to put on a set of handlebars or a seat or a fairing? How to change the oil or adjust my chain? What oil to use? What octane is best?
This bike just doesn't offer any kind of technical challenge except for beginners or those who just aren't mechanically inclined.
This bike is not a mystery machine, nor is it exotic or quirky. It is instead a lightning rod for nostalgic, wistful discourse, something that is apparently beyond the scope of this particular forum. The moderation here seems conservative in the extreme. Time and again, just as soon as a thread get interesting or fun, it gets shut down. But I'll bet ya that there are more guys tuning in to see what will be said next than are actually ever posting; and I'll further wager that most of them see things like I do. Food for thought?

Has anyone purchased the ASAHI Police Panniers for their CB 1100 yet? They are not the biggest but appear to fit the bike very well. If someone has can you give your impression and submit some images? Thanks.
Kevin
