We have a big state park here in southwest Ohio called East Fork State Park. Used to quail hunt there as a kid before they dammed it up and flooded it to make a huge 30,000 acre recreational lake for boating and swimming. Pretty day, but cool, so I thought I'd ride up there

What are you guys using to clean your rear wheel of the grease thrown off by the chain? I've hardly ridden mine yet, and my rear wheel is covered with a clear-ish, extremely sticky mess. I've never seen anything like it. I've normally just used an old dry bath towel for that job, but this is like dried Petroleum Jelly - it's going to take some kind of cleaner to get it off. I don't want to use something that'll mess up the polished rim of the wheels, so I thought I'd better see what the concensus here was...

Stretched her legs for the first time, I didn't lose any body parts no tank slapper just smooth acceleration. 4th gear at 9000 rpm's is 132mph and 5th gear still pulls pretty hard until I buried the speedo at 140. I think the bike can do 150 without question. The bike was as smooth as can be didn't scare me at all. I did have my cut down EX shield which i tucked behind in case it decided to leave me. I did do my air-box mod today and fuel mileage is back up to 54, i think it helped because the bike was running rich.
Came home and gave her hug, did i mention how much a like this bike

Full yoshi exhaust ordered and on its way then down to PA for some dyno time.

I just did my air-box mod using 3M stair strips cut in half and doubled. No need to put any additional support, i can't even pull the damn thing out, going to need pliers when the time comes. Nice clean job with the unit totally sealed. I did not want to use a strainer which would restrict and collect dirt in the future.

In anticipation of a air box mod i ran a test today to see how the CB breaths. I ran with a wide open air-box, no air cleaner, no side cover for about a 2 mile run, expected to have a real lean condition with at least some sort of bog especially full open throttle. To my surprise the bike ran the same as with the air-box closed up tight. Either this bike breathes really we'll or the FI adapts to severe conditions.

I know I saw this covered in another thread somewhere here on the forum, but I can't find it. I'm getting a very serious jerk when throttling up or down in lower gears. So much so that it started to wear on my arms the other day while out for a ride in stop and go traffic. I've tried easing on & off the throttle but to no avail. It's like, BAM! power on, BAM! power off. I remember some of the suggestions being throttle adjustment or chain adjustment, just wondering if any of those solved the issue with whoever was having it. Also, how many other members are having it? My throttle adjustment seems fine, I have yet to check my chain. The problem is super annoying in stop and go traffic, but other than that the bike is a dream!

As I was out and about putting up fliers for the american legion riders brat fry we have going on in two weeks I came across a pretty sweet Kawasaki Vulcan. This dealership has two left overs, one from 2012 and one from 2011 and they are discounted big time as they are tired of passing the rent for the bikes on the showroom floor.

Just curious if anyone has ever ridden one, any input on the bike? Just looking at possibly another addition to the stable.

Hello everyone. I use my cb1100 as a commuter to work. I travel about 350 miles each week. 35 miles one way. I check the air in the tires every week and check and oil the chain and check engine oil weekly. I usually wash the bike about every 2 weeks. To anyone considering the purchase of this bike as a commuter, it works well for that purpose. I usually get 38 miles per gallon as I ride fairly agressively. I have rode below 3000 rpms with a passenger for a full tank of gas and got 45 miles to the gallon. I know a lot of you get 50+ miles per gallon. Do you get that mileage at a very relaxed pace. I travel a lot of country roads to and from work, constantly keeping an eye out for deer. The more I ride this bike, the more I like it. I can pass slow moving cars on those curvy backroads where there is very little passing room in a matter of seconds, instead of being stuck behind them for miles. When I ride in strong winds, you can barely feel it. The bike also handles short interstate runs with ease, keeping up with traffic does not even put a strain on the 5 speed transmission.
Just washed after 2 weeks of riding.

Today was The Slimey Crud Run. A gathering of bikes in Southern Wisconsin. I only made it Pine Bluff as I had crap to do at home. So, my ride was 142 glorious miles, mostly sunny skies, and mild temps. I took my cam to the Crud. Here are some Honda's.
