When I stay in low gears (1/2) and take the revs up above 2000 and keep it there, the cb has a jerky motion, as if the fuel supply is not constant. The exhaust also sounds 'spluttery'.

Not noticeable in high gears and high speed (eg 100 km/hr in 5th).

Is this normal? EFI related?

6000 km service was 1000km ago, so the chain tension should be within tolerance.

I just installed the ventura sport rack / grab bar.
Remove grab handle and insert sport rack.
Next, add sport bag.
I wanted the rack so I could have some storage area when carrying a passenger. I have a seat bag that works great when I ride alone, although you have to kick your leg up high when mounting / dismounting bike. With the sport rack, I do not have to raise my leg so high, as my leg clears the rack by 3 or 4 inches.I can remove rack and install grab handle when I want the bike to look sporty without the luggage rack taking away from the looks. Here is a picture with sport bag, seat bag and magnetic tank bag.
Later I may order the pack rack and a larger bag.These next 2 pictures are not of my bike.

Up to now no one's said anything to me about the bike while we've been out and about. But yesterday, when we were fueling up at a gas station close to home, an older man walked up to me and said "I just love that bike! It's beautiful." (I say "older" because he was older than me, lol.)

Anyway, he went on to say how he saw that this bike was coming out last year and he was thinking about buying one. He said, "It reminds me of younger days, you know?" Yes, I do know.

Last weekend we stopped for breakfast on the way home from Jerome, and in the restaurant we sat where we could look out the window and see our bikes (always do that when we have luggage on the bikes). We saw several people leaving the restaurant go out and really look my bike over, smiling and pointing things out on the bike. I'm glad I can ride a bike that makes other people smile.

The great thing about windshield wipers is the thin steel stiffening strips embedded in the rubber. Whether you buy replacement inserts to save a few bucks or just get the entire wiper assembly, keep the hardened steel strips; they're great to have around the garage.

So far I've used them:
To remove handlebar grips: Smooth one end with a file, grab the strip with pliers and shove it under the grip. Lift up and spray WD-40 in the opening, then using pliers work your way around the bar. 30 seconds later you'll be done.

Suspend parts for spray painting.

Pull a rag through new, lower handlebars to remove chips and oil after drilling index holes for controls.

Hold a siphon tube straight by inserting a strip into the tube and crimping the end to keep it there. The $5 siphon from Harbor Freight wanted to curl up inside the tank and not stay down in the liquid.

Greetings All, I'm thinking about a Kaoko throttle friction-lock for my bike. I had one on a Suzi Wee-Strom and thought it worked fine. Kaoko's website doesn't list a CB1100 yet so they have advised this: is the handlebar I.D. 17mm or 19mm? I know the O.D. is 7/8" which is a smige more than 22mm. I'm inclined to believe 19mm.

Has anyone taken this measurement before? I thought I would ask before I removed the bar end and measured myself.

I must say, just have about 500mi on my new bike and I think its the best riding bike I've ever owned. I really love this bike.

I have the bike for 10 months, and always feel the bike is under powered. One up is okay, but 2 up I can feel the bike is under powered in city traffic. On long country stretch, to pass a car at 75 MPH it is not always as easy as i think it should be, it have to be quicker in a limited time frame, the bike requires more time and distance and timing to do so at 4th gear.

this bike is a casual ride for its cc volume, well behaved and yet needs some more torque. How about 105+ HP and 80 lbs/ft w/o sacrisfying MPH? Do I wish too much?

I am just getting a 1983 Honda CB1100F Red/White and was looking for a motorcycle club or group in my area to ride with.

If anyone knows of any please let me know.
