2013 Bar ID.

Greetings All, I'm thinking about a Kaoko throttle friction-lock for my bike. I had one on a Suzi Wee-Strom and thought it worked fine. Kaoko's website doesn't list a CB1100 yet so they have advised this: is the handlebar I.D. 17mm or 19mm? I know the O.D. is 7/8" which is a smige more than 22mm. I'm inclined to believe 19mm.

Has anyone taken this measurement before? I thought I would ask before I removed the bar end and measured myself.

I must say, just have about 500mi on my new bike and I think its the best riding bike I've ever owned. I really love this bike.

Thx to all for your time.

Good Rides! SeaFlea.

I had one on my VStrom 1000 and loved it. But the CB has trick bar ends to reduce vibes, and I decided not to add one. And the CB throttle is much lighter than the Vee's, so I really haven't missed it.

Twisted Throttle has the right Kaoko listed in their CB section, so fitment should be no problem.

Good point Spaceman. I may look at another friction lock.

Thanks, SeaFlea

The I.D. of the bar is 17.55 mm. The Kaoko listed in Twisted's web site is 19 mm and does not fit. I tried the 17 mm and it was too loose and did not stay in.They are working on a solution.

I contacted Kaoko after the model they list for the CB100 (HND30-19) didn't fit. Their response:

"Could you please provide us with the following. Also specify if you have aftermarket grips, hand guards or handle bars fitted.
Measurements – please be accurate and use a Vernier calliper:
Handle Bar Internal Diameter (ID)
Handle Bar Outside Diameter (OD)
Specification of OEM bar weight fastener / bolt

On receipt of the above information I will advise what product will be suitable for your bike and specific throttle / hand guard assembly.
If we do not have a stock / shelf product item available we will then quote on the practicality and cost of a custom development."

Since they are asking such detailed and specific questions it sounds to me like they haven't made a unit for our bike yet. Found the throttle lock useful on previous bikes, rocker gets in way sometimes and other times just can't get adjusted right.

On my Ural I have a piece of cord hanging from the rearview mirror that I can wrap around handlebar in the gap between grip and bar to act as a friction lock. Hate to go so old tech on the CB1100.
