A nice riding day around Grenoble
Posted by: Delphisa - 07-20-2014, 02:14 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (8)

I just uploaded on picasaweb the pictures of my last one day riding, it was on the France National day, July 14th.

260 km tour (160 miles) from Grenoble to Devoluy Mountains, then back through Lus La Croix Haute pass. No very high pass this day (clouds bottom were staying around 2000 meters this day, so we chose a medium altitude tour. Our goal this summer is to round Galibier pass (2500 m), maybe soon we'll get a week-end with the right meteo for that...

Here under a part of the pictures, some others in this [url=https://picasaweb.google.com/jp.sembely/2014_07_14Moto?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCMu2s5jm_KTAJA&feat=directlink]picasaweb album

Hope you will enjoy
Jean-Pierre

  Ergonomics
Posted by: Dvassino_imp - 07-19-2014, 11:19 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (10)

Hello,
I'm just about ready to purchase a 2014 DLX but would like to know if the ergonomics will be good for me. I did do a nice test ride at Americade last month. But sometimes that's just not enough time. I'm 5'6 and have been riding An HD Road King for a while. So the position is very different. My concern is that the forward lean will be a problem. Can anyone that is close to my height comment on the ergonomics relating to forward lean and causing arm and shoulder strain.

Thanks,

Dino

Ordering a K&H Seat from Samurider
Posted by: Gumby 1100_imp - 07-19-2014, 10:58 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (9)

I'm thinking of ordering a K&H Tall Seat, but the base price is a considerable investment, and I didn't want the order to get screwed up or have to return it to Japan if it isn't correct.

I've read horror stories about those who have been very specific about what they wanted in a Corbin Custom Seat, and still didn't get what they wanted.

With that in mind, does Samurider have a detailed K&H "on-line" order form for all of the relevant questions?

Were you asked your weight in order to provide the correct "Injection Sponge" density?

Did you have to specify the inclusion of the tandem/passenger strap?

For those familiar with both Corbin and K&H, which would you choose for your CB1100?, and why?
(Note: Corbin can also make a "tall" version of the Chip Beck spec seat by adding more foam at no additional charge, so the Corbin would be approximately $100 less than the K&H Tall.)

  Hello, goodbye bikes
Posted by: Insolentsquid_imp - 07-19-2014, 09:25 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (23)

Looking through dealer ads for an used CB1100, I can find three fairly close to me, all 2013 reg., one previous owner, not demonstrators, mileages are 800, 600, and 250 miles.

Any idea why owners might be getting rid of their bikes so soon, with so few miles?

I'm going to put some risers on my bike, do those little buttons covering the bolts just pop off with a knife? I was picking at them and they don't seem to wanna budge.
Thanks

  National cycle windscreen

Any thoughts or opinions on this windscreen? I kind of like it as it covers your hands for cold weather riding.

  Help! Front wheel spacers.
Posted by: flynrider - 07-19-2014, 07:47 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (5)

I know I should have a repair manual, but it's one of those things I put off in favor of farkles Blush

I removed the front wheel and took it in to get a new Mich PR3 mounted. When I got it back the mech handed me the spacers. One is taller than the other and I'm stumped as to which spacer goes on which side. I test fit them on both sides and either way it looks asymmetrical. I don't see any intuitive way to figure this out other than looking at the manual (which I don't have).

Can someone with a manual tell me which side of the bike gets the tall spacer and which side get's the short one?
