When does your riding season end/start throughout the year?
I am specifically asking riders in Virginia, but other answers would be nice too.
I'm from Northern Nevada and I'm not sure if I'd ride year-round there. Also am not sure where I'd like to finally settle in the country in the future but I'd definitely need to be able to ride whenever/wherever I want.

Honda did the black but did not black out forks and especially the motor. Honda wake up Blacked out is hot!

Which companies have you had experience with that made outstanding protective equipment?

I've had a shoei and alpinestars gear. Helmet is ok, I think I'll get a shuberth when I have the dough. Alpinestars jacket I've had for almost 2 years and it's still pretty good. Gloves are done.
I have Chippewa boots, great while riding but kind of uncomfortable to walk in.
I'd say kriega is the only company I know for sure that makes great packs, I love mine.

Hey guys. It's looking like I will be pretty available for Sept 13-14 or Sept 20 for a longer ride. Anyone interested?
Hopefully Randy will be all healed up and back on two wheels by then, too!

How big are men's hearts that we can love so many... I adore my CB1100 but this beauty still puts a big grin on my face.

I had a very close call Saturday morning. My dad passed away Early Friday morning and I was out for a ride to clear my head. I had that lump in my throat the one you get with a heavy heart. I was very aware driving very slow watching every driveway and intersection, riding below the speed i usually travel. It was a short ride of about 40 miles. Was on a rode i travel all the time which has a merge that people fly down and hardly ever slow down, as i leave the traffic light which i usually fly around this sweeper I'm traveling slow today, i see a cop car approaching the merge and take for granted he see's me. We'll he does not and my mirrors because of the angle do not pick up on him coming on me, next thing i see is a front fender maybe 12" from my motor, how he did not hit me is a miracle. He gave up his car against the guard rail to avoid hitting me. He stopped I really had no time to even have any fear and continued to travel thinking that was to close. He caught up with me down the road put his lights on and we pulled over. First thing he says is I'm a rider too!!. I'm so sorry i didn't see you. Great guy in his mid 40's no rookie. I explained i just lost my dad and he must have been looking over me and broke down. Stayed with him for about ten minutes and we drove away.

Anyone knows if this ROX bar risers will fit the CB1100DLX/EX ?

I'm worried that the bottom nut/bolt protrusion on this risers will hit the triple clamp surface, and will not allow tightening.

Any advice appreciated.

Maybe the normal risers without the "Anti-Vibration" feature will suit the bike more...

In the behavior where I live there are a few of corn fields. I like the color of lights in the morning or in the evening, so i put my old Canon Rebel DSLR camera in my new tail bag and made a little trip around the fields and took some pictures.

This bike is an absolute blast!

How it beats the CB1000R I HAD:
It's lighter.
Even more comfortable and seat height is just a bit shorter.
Sounds better.
Quicker off the line.
Cruises in top gear at 75mph at about 6Krpm and doesn't vibrate uncomfortably.
Red lines at about 14Krpms.
Great gas mileage.
HAS A GEAR INDICATOR.
Easy to read instrument cluster/gauges.
Was able to set suspension up to me without having to replace fork springs or any other part.
Almost just as much horsepower and torque (I really don't feel a difference between the two bikes)
CHEAPER TO INSURE
AND IT'S RED!!!!! (the gray 2010 is my cousin's)
I will never go back to a bike over 1000 cc's. I hardly ever used the 6th gear on the CB1000R.
The only problem I have with the STR is that it isn't a Honda, but I wanted to branch out eventually.

So I started out riding a 2003 Nighthawk 750 2 years ago, then in April 2013 I upgraded to a CB1100.

I wanted something quicker and figured, "Hey, 1140 CC's should do the trick." But eh, I ended up trading it in for a 2013 CB1000R that same year.

I called up the insurance for a quote and it wasn't too bad, but it turned out the person on the other end of the phone put down 100 cc's instead of 1000. So they told me when my policy renewed in April 2014, it would go up.

Well, I ended up getting in a little wreck soon after getting the CB1KR. Was going about 40mph or so and went over a bump in the road while leaned over, lost traction and the bike went out from under me.

Well with the CC's being wrong and having a claim with 100% being my fault, I have been paying $263 a month since my policy renewed in April!!!!
But now with the STR I am only paying $71 a month.

I went with the STR because I liked my cousin's and I recently took the Lee Parks Total Control Course over here and one of the instructors had a 2012 STR. I fell in love with it then. Turned out a dealership over here had one in stock with 6575 miles, bar end mirrors (hard to see crap but I can get used to them) and some frame sliders, everything else is stock.
