Lee Parks Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic
Posted by: redReno_imp - 07-14-2014, 01:05 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

Took this course last week while I still had the CB1000R

A great course! I got the opportunity to do it for free, but I would say it is well worth the money if the course is available to you. I would have been stuck riding the same for years, not improving at all if it wasn't for this course.

Went and did level 1 & 2 as well as the suspension clinic.

Some stuff they teach was simple but difficult to practice, like trail braking. It was really difficult for me to do it with the front brake, but by the end of the day I had it down and I love doing it now.
Still need to work on the speed up/down shifts and plenty more stuff.

Really it was just about improving your skill, but more being able to recognize what you are doing wrong and being able to fix it or work on it.
They also almost preached to not get down on yourself when making mistakes, AND to not take all the credit when you do good, because it's really the bike doing all the work, your just letting it do it's thing.

Here are some pics, wasn't on a track so we were just going around cones.

Crazy question. How do I remove the seat on a 2014 Deluxe? Dealer put the owner manual under the seat and I can not access it. Thanks.

  Turn signals, clear, LED, rigid?
Posted by: Vossero_imp - 07-14-2014, 07:17 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (4)

I dropped my bike the other day putting it up on the center stand (Ive put it up a million times i know shut up) and it snapped the rubber connecting the turn signal.

Anyway! Good news is now i have an excuse to replace all my turn signals huzzah!

Anybody know of a turn signal, that instead of a orange lens, a clear one, and instead of an orange bulb, just orange LEDs. The bike is going for a monochromatic look, so no color whatsoever. The signals really throw it off lol...

Added bonus, if theres also a clear, red LED tail light, boom, that would be awesome swell!

Got this from a friend. Left in the barn for many years, then in 2009 decided to see if it would run and maybe clean it up a little. One thing led to another, and pretty soon it turned into a full restoration.

  Samurider.com shipping to Canada
Posted by: Gumby 1100_imp - 07-13-2014, 11:33 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (7)

Have any Canadians ordered from Samurider yet?

If so, how was the product shipped?
What additional charges were applied?
I sent them an e-mail, but the response was unclear as to what company would be standing at my door with their hand out for their share.

I'm trying to avoid the criminal Brokerage, Duty and Taxes charged by the likes of the "Brown Shirts" (UPS). Shipping UPS to Canada usually results in charges amounting to another 40-60% on top of the purchased price. Understandably, I try to place orders from U.S. companies that ship via USPS as they typically do not charge duty, brokerage or Canadian taxes.

Thanks in advance for your responses...
