A few days ago my paint matching headlight bucket and chrome instrument cups came in from Samurider.

Installation of the chrome instrument cups was a snap, Elipten was right. Remove allen screw from back of tach, remove black cover, put on chrome cover, reinstall allen screw. Done. Same for speedo. 2 minte per instrument job.

The headlight bucket was also a snap since Honda redesigned the hole in the back of the bucket. On the 13 there were 2 holes, and all the wiring had to be unplugged. On the 14 DLX (not sure about std but would assume it's the same) there is one big hole and after removing headlight ring, and disconnecting plug on back of headlight, all the wiring can be shoved out the hole without disconnecting anything else. New bucket is then held up, all wiring stuffed back into bucket, bucket nuts (clips) and bolts installed, wiring put under clips, headlight reconnected to wiring clip, and headlight ring reattached. Easy peasy. Probably a 15 minute job taking your time.

This is exactly how I envisioned my perfect CB 1100 to look when I had Huladog photoshop one for me last year. RLETs, fork gaiters, matching headlight bucket, chrome instrument covers. Finally got it!

Hello to everybody, I am currently planning to buy a CB1100 in the next months. I love its style, its heritage and its usability.

At the very beginning I was looking for a Triumph Thruxton, but now I hope to buy this great bike as soon as possible! I love it!

My '14 CB1100 DLX with the new Cortech 2.0 TailPack and National Cycle Deflector windshield. The tailpack is extremely handy and the windshield is very useful on the Highways.

I love this bike and can't stop looking at it.

Yesterday was such a beautiful day, my son and I went for a little ride on his Triumph Tiger 800 XC and my CB1100 DLX. We lunched at a great Cajun restaurant in Plano and rode to our intended stop.

Our destination was Southfork Ranch; the set and fictional home of the Ewings on the Dallas TV Show. This TV Show was a huge success and was known Worldwide as the show that put Dallas on the map. If you are old enough to remember, Dallas ended one season on a "cliffhanger" entitled "Who Shot J.R.?". The whole country was talking about the fate of the character Larry Hagman played.

The Southfork Ranch is a tourist destination now and you have to pay to visit it. We, being the cheap riders we are, opted to take our photos from across the street.

On the way back, we got "lost" and ended up way north completely out of our way, However, when you are riding and having fun, getting lost is just a little more riding time to have fun.

Kudos to the people who came up with this idea. Lean and Clean!

I just had my bike Dyno'd today. I have a TSR air funnel K&N air filter and a custom slip on exhaust from cone engineering. I had the mods on before the tune. The baseline was 86.39 hp and 68.22 torque and I ended up with 91.19 hp and 71.40 torque. I'm pretty happy with the results. I plan on getting my bike reflas he'd in the future to remove all the de tunes just to have a little more response and a little more on the top end doesn't hurt. My question is would another dyno be worth it after a reflash or will the reflash just improve upon my previous dyno?

I checked the steering stem bearings as a preventive winter maintenance (5300 mi)curiosity item. Checked the torque and found to be about 1/8 turn loose. Not significant. Disassembled to check the amount of lube and found to adequate to go several years imho. Not over lubed, but totally enough unlike I have found on several other Japanese motorcycles. In conclusion if it becomes necessary to adjust the stem bearings , I would be comfortable to adjust only with out dis-assembly to check the lube. BTW the way the steering head and swing arm bearings call for a new Poly-Urea lube. I think this Honda Automotive Grease fits the bill.

I like helmets. Probably not as much as my wife likes shoes. But close. I've always worn full-face helmets but am considering adding a 3/4 helmet to my rotation. I thought I'd start this poll and see what the rest of you are wearing. I'm pretty sure most, if not all, of us have seen the famous diagram that shows impact areas to the face and head during a crash. This isn't meant to be a this type is better than that type of discussion but, if it goes there, I'm okay with that. So, what are you primarily wearing on your head? And, if you're so inclined, why did you choose to go that route?

Edit: Thanks CA200. My other half doesn't know yet that I'm considering a 3/4 helmet. I'll be curious to see what her reaction is. And, currently, my go-to helmet is a Bell RS-1.
