  Vanity Plate...

Ended up going with "CB11" since CB1100 is too many characters for our 5 digit limit on MC plates. Any other ones of interest seen or owned out there?

  Instrument bezels

Hey, I'm pickin up my 2013 cb 1100 Tuesday from the dealer to complement my 76 cb 550 restomod. On the floor it does not have the chrome bezels on the clocks. Is this correct? Non ABS. Just seen chrome bezels on all the vids I've seen.

  Second key

Sorry if this has been posted before, I searched but could not find any thing on it. But what is the purpose of the second key- it is a little shorter than the ignition key has honda logo on it.

I'm curious how many CBs actually needed a valve adjustment at 8k.

Any recommendations for superbar bars bar-end mirrors?
Posted by: Uberjason_imp - 02-01-2015, 12:47 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

Hello all,

Anyone have any recommendations for putting superbar handlebars and maybe bar-end mirrors? Where did you order from? Was there any shaving of the switchgear to mount it (or drilling of the bar)? Doesn't seem to be much info on the forum. Any and all recommendations welcome.

Thanks!

uberjason

  7600 miles as of today.
Posted by: Motogeezer1949_imp - 01-31-2015, 03:41 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Update! 7840 miles as of today Wink Some of you may recall, I picked up my sons CBDLX the end of June last year. I put 1100 miles on it during it's first ride, Ohio to Orlando. Now at the end of January it's showing 7606 totally trouble free miles. 2200 of them added when I took it on a trip from FL. to NC and back last October. My son has only ridden it 3 or 4 of them. He has promised to ride it more in spring. It will be fun to ride together, me on my lightly cafe'd red with gold pin striped '78 Yamaha 750 triple. So anyway, that's about 1100 miles per month average. Glad to live and ride year 'round in central FL. The CB is awesome, especially with the reflash. 132 mph has been it's fastest GPS verified velocity to date. It's gone through a front tire and it's getting ready for a rear. Interestingly, I detailed it today, cleaned and lubed everything and the chain adjustment is still in spec. I found some Lemon Pledge wipes and I gave them a try instead of the Honda polish I normally use. Primo results, just like the old days Wink The only adds have been a set of IKON shocks and chrome oem engine guards, however I think a nice set of black bar end mirrors are going on next. As I've talked about on my CB Facebook page "CB1100DLX Face Book Group", I like the kids bike so much, I'm thinking of selling my other toys and getting a used '13 to lightly cafe. By lightly, I mean NO clip ons (gotta keep the riding position tolerable for my soon to be 66 year old bones) some flat bars with bar end mirrors, color matched or '14 side covers, a solo, rear cowl type seat and a full system, raspy exhaust. In black preferably, but any color will do. It'll take a little time to divest the 3 Yammy's and the '09 Dodge Challenger, but it looks like I'm going to be heading in that direction. Well, 7600 mostly trouble free, extremely enjoyable fun filled miles. Darn hard to beat Wink

Group of friends are getting together for a ride to Borrego Springs for lunch and then Julian for apple pie. Banana

Best day of the year to go riding; while the rest of humanity jells out in front of the tube watching "the big game" on TV. Tongue

Full report to follow. Biker

New Show on Velocity - Naked Speed
Posted by: SUPERCRUZ_imp - 01-31-2015, 11:50 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

So weather has been crappy here in NOVA and the roads are all covered in salt and chemicals. No riding for a while now. I sat down this evening to watch the new Velocity show Naked Speed that I recorded on my DVR earlier this week. I think the show comes on Wednesdays at 10PM. Anyway, Mike Seate, former producer of Cafe Racer TV, and Brian Fuhler, Two Guys Garage fame, essentially carry the torch for the cafe racer crowd. In this first episode, Mike Seate travels to Kott Motorcycles in CA. Andy Kott is known for his vintage Honda custom cafe bikes. At one part in the show, Mike is carving turns heading to Kott's shop. He is riding a new CB1100 black standard edition. Very cool. Biker

Received a survey from Honda today along with a crisp one dollar bill. Nice. Looking forward to filing it out and sending it in. Any thoughts on what I should spend my dollar on?
