I Would Like To Buy A CB1100 - Dareius_imp - 01-21-2015 Hello to everybody, I am currently planning to buy a CB1100 in the next months. I love its style, its heritage and its usability. At the very beginning I was looking for a Triumph Thruxton, but now I hope to buy this great bike as soon as possible! I love it! RE: I Would Like To Buy A CB1100 - 808_rider_imp - 01-21-2015 When I bought my CB in May 2014, I was also considering a Triumph (T100). Since I was not able to get a test ride of the two bikes, I did extensive internet research for about a year before deciding on the CB. I read reviews by former triumph owners who test rode or purchased the CB. The reviews went both ways, some declaring the CB a superior bike and some maintaining they like the triumph better. The T100 cost less, had a longer warranty, weighted less and had the more retro look I was after but in the end I chose the CB and have not been disappointed in my decision. I still love the looks of the T100 and if I had room, I would not mind having one as a second bike. I Would Like To Buy A CB1100 - Cormanus - 01-21-2015 Dareius, we're mostly biased in favor of the Honda. I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything. However, members here speak well of Triumphs and there's lost of them out there. That said, hope you find a CB1100 and join us. RE: I Would Like To Buy A CB1100 - Rocky_imp - 01-21-2015 I own both a Triumph T100 and a CB1100. I bought the T100 in 2006 and like it very much. Riding a Triumph Bonneville takes me back to when I was a kid. Later, when the CB was introduced, I knew I had to have one and was lucky enough to get one last April because they are in limited supply here. I thoroughly enjoy both bikes, and both put a big smile on my face, but If I could only have one bike, and was forced to choose between the two, I would choose the CB for its smoothness and refinement. RE: I Would Like To Buy A CB1100 - rboe - 01-22-2015 Triumphs are good bikes and you would do well owning one. It just depends on what you want out of a bike and what turns your crank. Life is short, get both! I looked at the Triumphs (Bonnie) and luckily the first one I test rode was unimpressive. A couple years later I test rode a different Bonnie that an instructor had at the Motorcycle Safety School and was much more impressed. While some models of Triumphs look mighty nice, the CB hits more hot buttons. I'm of the opinion that the Honda is built better but so far that is a purely subjective opinion. There are a lot of good bikes out there; get what makes you smile. Treat it well and most will last a lot longer than you care to keep them. RE: I Would Like To Buy A CB1100 - the Ferret - 01-22-2015 I liked my Bonnie T100 a lot, really smooth for a vertical twin. It was physically small, seat was pretty hard, was a little down on power, and brakes were not as good as the CB's, but it has not even had a valve go out of adjustment in over 30,000 miles. I sold it to my younger brother. He loves it. We ride together often so I still get to see and hear it. I like my CB a LOT more.
