  CB1100 dilemma
Posted by: JPX_imp - 02-24-2015, 01:52 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (27)

Hi all, I have a 2006 Yamaha FZ6 sport standard at the moment and am probably going to sell it and get a CB1100. I found a dealership that has a 2013 model for $7100 OTD and a 2014 for $8000 OTD. I really like the near blacked out look of the 14 but am not against saving $900 and spending $300-400 of that to get a 13's tank/side covers painted (debating between white/black/silver). I guess my dilemma is figuring out whether it's worth an extra $900 for the added hassle of having to get the tank repainted and missing a few features that I may not care about.

I had found a thread a few days ago that detailed a complete list of differences between the standard versions of both years but am having trouble locating it again after about an hour or two of searching. Sorry to bring this topic up again as I'm sure it's already been beaten to death. Can anyone add to the below list or correct anything that I missed?

From what I recall the changes from 2013 to 2014 are:
6 speed vs 5 speed
Gear indicator/MPG/Trip functions added to cluster
Smaller turn signals
Handlebar position moved further away from rider
Headlight position moved higher on the forks
Various color differences (engine/brackets/grab handles/wheels/etc)
Header finish changed (?)
Oil sight glass removed (?)
Weight (?)

If anyone could confirm for me I'd appreciate it!

  Staintune Pipes
Posted by: Griso Guy_imp - 02-24-2015, 09:11 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I sent an email to Staintune's headquarters on Sunday inquiring about slip on's for the CB1100. Here is the response:

Hello Mark,
Thank you for your interest in our products. We are currently designing a pipe for the CB1100A. The project is on hold until the beginning of March when our engineer is traveling to our factory. I should have some more information mid to late March if you'd like to contact me back. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed our pipes on your ST.

Cheers

Janielle

I had a couple of sets of Staintune's and they were high quality and sounded great. It Looks like they are in the pipeline.

K&H Hi seat and gauge covers arrived!
Posted by: RetroSeattle_imp - 02-24-2015, 06:52 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (13)

I received another magic box from Takashi at Samurider with my new K&H Hi seat, and my chrome gauge covers.

The workmanship on the K&H seat is wonderful and it fits perfectly. I haven't done a test ride yet, but the garage sit test confirms that the higher seating position un-kinks my long legs.

Samurider gets my vote as the best and most responsive parts supplier. Expensive, and worth it.

Has anybody done a headlight aiming exercise?

2013 CB1100 with Satin Black parts
Posted by: AllenM_imp - 02-24-2015, 02:03 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (14)

The fenders, grab rails and foot peg mounts are powder coated and the side covers and fairing are painted. Other changes include a lower oem seat, Type II handlebars and cb500f mirrors. I did buy new cb1100 emblems for the side covers but I think it looks better without them. Personally I think the bike looks better without the fairing. Please let me know what you think.

  Whitehouse K10 Seat?
Posted by: Light_imp - 02-24-2015, 01:27 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (17)

Hello all,

Does anyone have any seat-time on the Whitehouse K10 seat (either the 31.29” or 32.4” option)? I’m wondering how comfortable it is compared to stock, and if it takes care of the pulling-forward issue some have with the stock seat. I've put the Whitehouse tank on my bike, and the tank is gorgeous, but it doesn’t quite look right with the stock seat (still need to get my side panels painted as well). If anyone has any time with the K10 seat, let me know what you think of it. Thanks all, this forum has been such an amazing help.

  SIDE COVERS
Posted by: CBMALTA_imp - 02-23-2015, 05:48 PM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (9)

Hi, I'm hoping that someone can help me. I'm making a cafe racer from a 1977 Honda CB750 and the frame looks very similar to the CB1100.
I would like to see if I can fit the CB1100 side covers on the CB750.
Can someone help me out by giving me the measurements of one of the side covers?
I want to be sure they can fit before ordering.
Best Regards
Rene
