  JB-Power Magtan JB4 Magnesium wheels
Posted by: lola_imp - 03-04-2015, 12:56 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (37)

After a month and a half wait the wheels arrived from Takashi at Samurider.

Cost is 350.000 japanese yen shipped to your door and they are made to order . the Wheels are well packaged from JB-Power that it could withstand almost any abuse by most shipping companies, attention to detail is top notch.

The wheels itself is a thing of beauty made out of AZ80 magnesium, wheel paint is outstanding and the non painted surface of the wheel is done with anti corrosion coating. Bearings are made by Koyo Japan the rear sprocket carrier, front & rear rotor carriers are machined with precision. Also, the Rear sprocket is included and is made out of aluminum as far as the color it looks anodized goldish zinc . They will ask you if you want to change sprocket size but i stuck with the 39tooth sprocket.

Front Wheel Size= 3.00-18
Rear Wheel Size = 4.50-18

I was going to dismount the tires from stock wheels but decided to leave them alone and use them as back up so I do not have the weights of the stock wheels. I do however have weight comparison between the wheels & tires of both the magtan & Stock .

Front wheel magnesium with bearings & spacers = 6.4lbs
Rear wheel magnesium with bearings & spacers= 8.9lbs

Stock wheel & tire front with bearings and spacers= 24.5lbs
JB Magtan wheel & tire front with bearings and spacers=17.9lbs

Stock wheel & tire Rear with bearings & spacers= 28.8lbs
JB Magtan wheel & tire Rear with bearings & spacers=23.5lbs

Stock Rear sprocket & Stock Carrier= 6.2lbs
JB Magtan Rear Sprocket & Carrier= 3.4lbs

Tires are Bridgestone Battlax T30
110-80-18 front
160-60-18 Rear

  Remus Powercone or Arrow slip-on
Posted by: thessler3_imp - 03-04-2015, 09:59 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (10)

I live in NJ (USA) and would like to find US dealers for the Remus Powercone and/or Arrow slip-on muffler for my 2013 CB1100. Perhaps the dealer might have one in stock and I would not have to wait for shipping from Europe. Any advice will be appreciated.

  Metal Oil Fill Plug
Posted by: Uberjason_imp - 03-04-2015, 07:39 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (4)

I know it's probably overkill, but does anyone make a nice looking metal fill plug for the CB1100? I can find them for enduro/dual sport bikes, but they are more utilitarian in appearance.

Thanks!

  New Bike Hesitating / Sputtering
Posted by: treytexag_imp - 03-04-2015, 07:11 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (86)

CB11 Team, I picked up a '14 DLX today, brand new, been sitting on the showroom floor with gas in tank since June 2014. 16 - test miles - on the odometer.

The bike runs pretty good at higher rpms, but at low speed when I accelerate from around 2,000-3,000 rpm up from 2nd and 3rd gear, bike seems to sputter and hesitate.

I spoke to the mechanic at the dealer, over 1 1/2 hours away, he said that before I picked up the bike today, he drained the gas from the tank and lines and put new in. He said the bike "needs to have a few tankfulls of gas run through it". He said he did not clean the injectors - whatever that would mean . . .

Does this seem right guys - the new DLX CB11 simply needs gas run through it to "clean it up" from sitting so long or is this "baloney"?

Please let me know what y'all think.

picking up my nused HD Switchback today
Posted by: ss2wheels_imp - 03-03-2015, 09:50 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (6)

I made the mistake of riding a 14 HD Dyna Switchback last Saturday at the local Dealer, It will look nice next to my DLX,will be my 8th HD and I just couldn't help myself. The 100 pounds of torque is very hard to ignore on the 1690cc twin, the bike is a 14 that was only used by HD corporate for 2k miles never titled to anyone. I love my Vstar 1100 but when my wife rides with me, I like more grunt. I will sell the Star as I really don't need 3.Biker

Hazard of filling tank while sitting on the bike
Posted by: furious_blue_imp - 03-03-2015, 02:50 PM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (28)

apologies if this is a re-post.

People have told me that they fill their tanks without getting off the bike and that it saves time.

After seeing this (below), I don't think I'll *ever* try it !

What mc magazine do you subscribe to?

I get Motorcyclist, Rider, Motorcycle Classics, Cycle World and Road Runner

Different magazines are like having different motorcycles in the garage, all similar, but they generally serve a different purpose. motorcyclist and Cycle World are similar, Rider and Road Runner are similar, and Motorcycle Classics is just about classic motorcycles.

My favorite is Road Runner followed by Motorcycle Classics and then Rider, Cycle World and lastly Motorcyclist.

So what mc rag is laying on your coffee table?

As you all might know, in order for me to buy a new bike for myself I had to first buy a new one for the wifey. Timing is everything . . . so I got her this 2015 CB300F as her first bike as a beginner. Nice light 1 cylinder with upright riding position.

She will take the Motorcycle Safety class next month and get her license and then we ride the back roads of New England together instead of her on the back Smile
