K&H Hi seat and gauge covers arrived! - RetroSeattle_imp - 02-24-2015 I received another magic box from Takashi at Samurider with my new K&H Hi seat, and my chrome gauge covers. The workmanship on the K&H seat is wonderful and it fits perfectly. I haven't done a test ride yet, but the garage sit test confirms that the higher seating position un-kinks my long legs. Samurider gets my vote as the best and most responsive parts supplier. Expensive, and worth it. Has anybody done a headlight aiming exercise? RE: K&H Hi seat and gauge covers arrived! - Lord Popgun - 02-24-2015 The red stitching in the seat really looks good on that red bike. RE: K&H Hi seat and gauge covers arrived! - the Ferret - 02-24-2015 Beautiful! as for headlight aiming, I only worry about the high beam. If its dark I want to see as far as I can clearly on high beam... so I go out at night, leave my headlight loose enough I can move it, and stick an allen in my pocket. Stop on a long flat stretch of road where there are no streetlights, and raise the headlight for best view in those conditions and then tighten it there. It's easy to tell when you have it right. RE: K&H Hi seat and gauge covers arrived! - RetroSeattle_imp - 02-24-2015 Following an hour ling ride I can confirm that the K&H Hi seat is an improvement for me. I have long legs and my knees don't feel as bent with this one. I will have to make a longer journey soon to check on the time between leg stretching stops.
RE: K&H Hi seat and gauge covers arrived! - gossman_imp - 02-24-2015 Love the seat and really interested in the way you got the bike up on the centerstand while on the dolly. Is it as hairy as it looks? RE: K&H Hi seat and gauge covers arrived! - RetroSeattle_imp - 02-24-2015 No problem, I just make sure that the center stand feet are centered on the dolly and give her the old heave ho. I am 6'4" and 235 pounds so have a bit of an advantage there. The dolly really makes it easy to move things around in the ManShack. Time for harbor freight now. It really looks like a good idea. And I'll really bet it helps in moving things around in the cave.
