I was reading the thread where InHouse Bob posted a picture of his CB with his daughter and someone commented how she resembled the insurance advertisement girl who has named her car Brad.
It got me to thinking "Do you or have you ever named your bike or car"
I personally have on occasion but not always and as yet have not applied one to my CB.
Some previous names have been:
McQueen given to my 1968 Honda CL450 which reminded me of Steve McQueens scrambling days.
Beast given to my 2010 F150 Harley Davidson truck.
Polly given to my 2002 Porsche Boxster S

A colleague has owned a CB750F for a few years and it's known amongst us as Smith because he lives close to a park here in Fort Lauderdale called CB Smith Park.

This may be a very short thread as the answer might be very logical, swift, and undeniable, but I need to know.

Why is it that everywhere I look, from craigslist, to online pictures, or this forum, that people hide their license plate (cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers) by either putting a baseball cap over it, or a sock, or blur it out digitally? Besides the home state, and if you current on your registration, what crucial information does it give away, and what's the dangers? I don't think that just about anyone can figure out your address/where you park your baby, by looking at the plate number, except for the police, and the DMV of course. Or is that the point, so the police won't know what bike they're looking out from a picture, because you've got illegal stuff on it? Mine is always in the garage anyway, but that's besides the point. Then there are those who run personalized license plates, and are proud to show them, such as I. My car reads U2LIVE (I'm a big U2 fan), my Triumph Scrambler reads MI6, and my CB reads CBLGND. Well obviously I'm not scared to share, but I might be once you're finished with this thread. So why do people hide their license plate again?

The stars aligned and my wife and I had two days off at the same time. So we took the cb Thursday night and camped until Saturday morning. I was surprised we fit all we needed into a gi backpack, especially the way my wife likes to pack haha. Not a real long drive about 110 miles round trip, but conquered a bunch of firsts. Was our First two up trip (extended), first ride in the rain, and first motorcycle camping trip. We had a blast and can't wait until we do another one. I will try and post a few pics (sorry didn't take a whole lot)

Just rolled 20,000 miles on my '13 CB1100 this morning.

Corbin seat at 8,000 mi.
On it's 3rd rear tire @ 18,000 mi
2nd front tire @ 14,680 mi
5th oil & filter change (Honda GN4 10W-30)
Dealer service @ 15,000 mi. showed valves in spec, no adj necessary.
Avg 48 mpg
Chain needs adjusting only at rear tire change (du-uh).

Cruised 80-85 mph on I-25 this PM for about an hour and at that speed causes turn signals to vibrate noticeably.

No issues, great bike.

After servicing my 2014 DLX I noticed liquid under the right side exhaust. Checked it, definitely H20. No H20 on the left side. After getting underneath I could see a drain hole for the moisture, condensation drain I figured. Makes sense since the exhaust tilts up and won't send the H20 out the end. Checked the other side. The black coating is covering the hole.

After 624 miles I performed my first service on my 2014 DLX.
Oil and filter change threads on this site mentioned or questioned the correct amount of oil to reach max oil. These two photos show my results.

This is whats left of the fourth quart. I did run the bike to make sure the oil filter K&N was full.

I bought the bike new and the oil was over filled.

As you'all know ,, I was going to sell my CB due to not being able to ride comfortably due to back issues . I bought a softtail Harley and it is more comfortable on long rides ...however , I love just darting around town for an hour or so on the CB .. I'm fine on short rides ... A man called me the other night wanting to buy the CB and I have never got so sick over something in my life !! I just cannot part with it ! He told me he would think it over and call me back the next day , however he never called back and even if he had , I've decided to keep her ! I know I would regret selling her for the rest of my life so she's staying in the stall with the Harley . I have bought some handle bar risers and am going to install them first chance I get ... The bikes got 810 miles on it now and I am going to put many more on her ... I feel so much better now ... It's ok to have 2 bikes guys ... My wife even told me to keep it ! She could see how sick I got over almost selling it .... Anyways ... If anyone else is having problems with their back or butt riding the CB on long distance ... I suggest you just buy another type bike ! But never , no never , not ever should you consider selling your CB .. It causes serious health problems even thinking about selling the CB !
