  Father-Son Bolivia Ride by GoPro
Posted by: metallyguitarded_imp - 06-27-2015, 04:50 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (2)

Came across this video on my YouTube feed. It's a father and son on a ride to the salt flats of Bolivia on their Triumphs. I really enjoyed it. I hope you do too. Just over 16 minutes long.

Here they are. I'll let you know how they ride when after I break them in.

If I did this right... check it out. It short but pretty good.
No, it's not about a Honda... but still pretty cool nevertheless.

All that rubber!

Now, if only Honda would give me my OEM drive sprocket I could scrub them in.

Cheers

  Sturgis 2015?
Posted by: Ghis_imp - 06-25-2015, 03:02 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (25)

I live in Denver (Brighton), and every year for the past 6 years I've been going up to Sturgis. Granted most of the vendors there are Harley focussed, and most bikes are Harleys, but there is still a really good mix of bikes of all brands and kinds. Many manufacturers offer free demo rides on their entire line of motorcycles, including Harley-Davidson, Indian, Victory, Yamaha, Can Am Spyder, as well as local Honda, and Suzuki dealers. Riding the Black Hills is a blast, and border line magical. Of course I will be going up again this year. It will be a well attended rally year, since it will mark the 75th Black Hills Motor Classic Rally. Anyone else here going from Colorado, or passing through Denver on the way there? If you ever wanted to ride along, I will be heading up there on Saturday August 1st. Let me know. Also if you've ever been to Sturgis before, please tell me why you like it or hate it. I like to hear it all. Every year, I'm thinking it will be the last for a while, but when comes June and July, I just can't resist the call of the Black Hills.

  Pics with short/custom/eliminated rear fender
Posted by: Papa Weeley_imp - 06-25-2015, 08:30 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (4)

You guys are killin' me!
I just put up a thread about "being done" with my bike, and several of you commented or asked why I didn't do something about the chrome rear fender...and now it's bugging the crap out out of me so badly that I'm shopping for something to do about it!
So - who's got shorty rear fenders, painted rear fenders, fender elimination kits, etc. on their bike that they'd like to share pics of to give me an idea of what's out there, and what they look like?!

  Suggested weight limit
Posted by: DBXXX_imp - 06-25-2015, 04:28 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (21)

Do any of you guys worry about the weight limits for passengers & cargo given by Honda and various accessory manufacturers? I'm on my second big trip, blatantly ignoring them both times.

Trip 1: camping with my wife.

Trip 2: working at a summer camp for a month.

Am I going to regret this?

  Whoa... Home just in time
Posted by: the Ferret - 06-25-2015, 04:11 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (13)

looked at weather channel this morning, and the hourly prediction said if you want to ride today, better make it before 10 am, so at 7:30 I was burning up the tires on the ST. About 8:30 the sky started looking ominous

[url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/ST%20ride%20June%2025%202015%20017_zps8jhfypza.jpg.html][Image: fdf20f1d97950a44a889cb86eaa918d4.jpg]

About 8:45 the wind kicked up, and while stopped at a light a gust hit me and I almost went over. It was a race for home, with eyes glued to the skies. Trees were whipping back and forth and the Silver Maple leaves were all upside down showing their silver sides. This might be bad.

As I hit my street I looked up one more time.. Yep it's coming soon, it was getting really dark.

As I pulled into the garage, the thunder was rumbling and a few minutes later it was coming down by the bucketful. Whew what an exciting morning, and that's not counting the two deer and the coyote that sprinted across the road in front of me within 30 minutes of taking off. That first hour after sun up is dangerous out here in the country. 74 miles on this mornings ride.
