20K on my '13 CB1100 - Haystack_imp - 06-19-2015 Just rolled 20,000 miles on my '13 CB1100 this morning. Corbin seat at 8,000 mi. On it's 3rd rear tire @ 18,000 mi 2nd front tire @ 14,680 mi 5th oil & filter change (Honda GN4 10W-30) Dealer service @ 15,000 mi. showed valves in spec, no adj necessary. Avg 48 mpg Chain needs adjusting only at rear tire change (du-uh). Cruised 80-85 mph on I-25 this PM for about an hour and at that speed causes turn signals to vibrate noticeably. No issues, great bike. RE: 20K on my '13 CB1100 - widude - 06-19-2015 Great report, I have a long way to catch up, likely never will. Besides me working full time, the older Son decided he would like to get a pilot's license after all. That means just about every day it's nice out we(or him solo) are up in the air. It has been fun though. RE: 20K on my '13 CB1100 - the Ferret - 06-19-2015 No wonder you haven't been posting much RE: 20K on my '13 CB1100 - Haystack_imp - 06-19-2015 (06-19-2015, 09:54 AM)sourdough44_imp Wrote: Great report, I have a long way to catch up, likely never will. This is a strong correlation, many pilots are also motorcyclists. I soloed in 1978 and am working on my 2nd home built, a FFP R80 Tiger Moth. When I need a break from building, the CB is right there! Flying and biking provide an escape from the vertical (Peter Egan). We have a 74 Piper Warrior. RE: 20K on my '13 CB1100 - Stratus_imp - 06-20-2015 As a former practicing private pilot, I'd love to see the stats on how many pilots are also into motorcycles. I know for me, something about the sounds and feel of motorcycles truly matches up with my love of aviation (at least the piston engine variety). Unlikely to have both in need of tightening, but one of mine did. It's not a downside, just an observation. They only vibrate on their mountings over 80 mph. I was also into a tad of a headwind at the time. I didn't turn around and look at the rear ones! Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't thought of it. |
