Posted by: metalmaven_imp - 06-25-2015, 01:10 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (95)

What kind of key fobs are you guys using?? Post a picture? ....yes KennyW's post with the "Remove Before Flight" one made me think of this...

Honda rear rack and Kijima saddle bag support?
Posted by: Ghis_imp - 06-24-2015, 01:04 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - No Replies

Anyone has those two installed together? Are they compatible? It seems that the saddle bag supports mount right behind the grab rails moving them out a bit. I installed the Honda rear rack and it was pretty tight. Anyone has experience with these two accessories together?

Which wire to tap for GPS power?
Posted by: Inhouse Bob - 06-24-2015, 11:48 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (32)

Hi all,
For those of you who understand that mysterious thing that is electrics... what positive wire up front should I tap to power my GPS? I want it to be a keyed wire, so when I shut the bike off, the GPS will power down as well. I'd like to use a wire up by the instrument panel so that there isn't a wire running all the way from under the seat. My wiring harness has it's own fuse.
Thanks in advance!

Member meet up, big Guzzi and a spirited ride
Posted by: the Ferret - 06-24-2015, 10:27 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (8)

A couple weeks ago the new Guzzi dealer in town invited me and my brother out to ride the new 1400cc Moto Guzzi Eldorado when he got one in. This is the same dealer that Guzzihoarder...er I mean Hondahoarder bought his latest Guzzi from. I was going to ride up to see him the day his new California came in bit timing was not right. Anyhow I asked the dealer if he had gotten his new bike and they said he had, and that he had traded in his CB1100 and that they had already sold it. Anyhow my brother and I got there at 10:20 and another customer was just taking off on the Eldorado for a test ride. We would wait. An hour later we decided to go het some lunch as the tester had not returned yet.

After lunch we came back and the Eldo was there, but there was also an old Honda K in the lot. Either 79 or 80 I figured as it was a DOHC. Walk inside and lo and behold, there sat Hondahoarder. That was Curts 81 CB that he keeps up here to ride around on. Apparently he had just returned from Italy and had stopped in to chat with the dealership guys having only had the time to put a whole 60 miles on his new Guzzi. Hondahoarder says HI to all his CB1100 forum friends.

Anyhow my brother was now in the batters circle and he would soon be riding the Guzzi

He really liked the big Guzzi. Said it was very comfortable, handled nice ... easily dropping into turns, transmission was smooth, brakes were very good, comfortable seat, good ergos and he loved the heel toe shifter. Seemed to have plenty of giddy up and go too. It did shake like a junkie waiting on his next fix under 20 mph but smoothed out nicely as speed climbed. They offered him basically nothing for his FZ-1 in trade ( he was keeping his Triumph) and they wanted 16 large for the Guzzi. I elected not to test ride it after all. So we left without it. Impressed though.

After leaving the dealership, my brother and I took a spirited 100 mile ride. He on his Bonnie a me on the CB both delighted with the bikes we were on. At one point, after a period of silence in our intercoms, my brother simply said " I can't believe I just test rode a sixteen thousand dollar motorcycle" and we both had a good laugh.

  Dealer With Two New CB's
Posted by: redbirds_imp - 06-24-2015, 06:17 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

We were in Statesboro, GA today and stopped in at the Honda dealer to say howdy and check out what was in the showroom. A new 2013 CB1100 was there and is in fact the same bike that was there when I stopped by two years ago. They also have a second 2013 demo with just a few hundred miles on it. I bought my 2005 ST1300 at this dealer and they are nice folks. I was told that a reasonable offer will get these bikes as they need to move them. Could be a good deal for someone still trying to locate a CB.

  Vintage Honda Commercials

Whether or not you like Seinfeld, you should get a kick out of the old Honda TV spots they are running at the beginning of this season's episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. They were running commercials for Acura before, but this is a nice change this season.

  User Manual (not Service Manual)
Posted by: MarkieSee_imp - 06-23-2015, 10:51 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (7)

Hello all,

I just purchased a 2013 model, and it didn't come with a User Manual. I've tried to locate one online, but only found the 2010 version, or links to purchasing the Service Manual.

I would like to get the User Manual only. I just want to be able to set the clock and such. The Service Manual may come later, just not yet.

Does anyone know of an online version? They don't have the hardcopy at my local dealer, and I don't see a means to get one on the Honda site.

Any helpful assistance appreciated,

Markie
