Corbin on the way
#1

Ordered my Corbin seat and have a month of butt pain before it arrives. I got the grabby vinyl on the sides for more thigh support and longer life and leather on top... both black. I did get red welt and red Corbin logo and left the pockets for a backrest in the order in the event I ever want to sell the seat. The backrests can be popular. I did get the stitching left off ala Chip Beck and was told it voided my cover warranty by customer rep Danielle. I asked her how others have done it and didn't get warranty voided and she told me they were voided... such as Chip Beck who has been super helpful in my purchase. As I understand it, the stitching is needed to help keep the cover on the foam beneath. Odd since many of the other gunfighter and lady seats do not have this stitching but I am stoked that I pulled the trigger. Will make riding a lot more comfy.

I'm in the process of getting a Corbin ordered myself. Good to know how long their lead time is. Mine may take longer to build since I am having them make a couple changes from the normal configuration with the foam and cover.

It shouldn't. They make them all to order and it's all done in order right there on the floor. I took pictures of mine while they were making it.

Here is a link to what I took while I was there. The strange looking bike is a ZERO that was HEAVILY modified and the owner of it is the guy sitting at the lunch counter.

They rep I spoke to said it would take longer to modify the cover. I'm having them make the side panels a single piece so the seam that runs centerline between rider and pillion seats isn't there. I can't imagine it's all that complicated, but they told me it would increase the build time. Maybe they want to under promise and over deliver.

If you go to the "Order" function, they allow you to change the characteristics of the seat to visualize what it will look like. BTW: shipping costs to states other than Florida, California and one other are over $50. If you have a UPS account and feel that the actual shipping cost should be less; especially since they are shipping to my business address, you can give them your UPS account number and UPS will bill me for shipping directly so I should save a few bucks.

Here is the seat I bought except their tool doesn't allow you to not show the stitching which won't be there on my actual seat.

Mine was a custom build because I felt the way they had the seat shaped moved me back too much. I can't believe that it would take any longer for them to make yours than it did for them to make mine while I waited. I think I was out of there in about 2½ hours or so from the time I pulled in until the time I left with the new seat on the bike.

Is Corbin willing to make a seat lower?

That might require a different seat pan and that would take longer. They made mine from scratch after I got there so who knows, you'll probably need to call them to discuss that.
