flat tire kit & general emergency gear - LARIDER_imp - 08-11-2015
I'm putting together a little emergency kit for the bike together. I always have extra fuses, some tools and extra headlight and taillight bulbs.
But I never have had a tire kit, so I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with them. I searched and didn't see any threads on this.
Any advice on some good ones?

I also would love to hear any suggestions for other emergency gear.

That looks like a pretty compact kit, and it's reasonably priced.
I just went with a Slime tire plug kit from the auto parts store and a compact electric air pump. It fits under the seat with the toolkit (just barely). Altogether it cost about the same as the option you posted.

I have the Stop and Go kit with portable air compressor on my NC700. The kit would fill the compartment under the seat on the CB1100 leaving no room for tools. I went with the more compact CO canister type for the CB1100 which does allow room for tools. I don't think the CO2 canisters will fully inflate a tire but at least make the bike ride able. You do hear about valve stems freezing up but I've never had the misfortune of a flat on the road.

I have the same kit minus CO2. Used it one, works ok, just don't trim the mushroom plug too close to the tire tread or it'll likely leak. Kit says it's good for 100 miles at 50MPH or something. It get you rolling but I don't trust it long term at all. Got me around town till my new tires came in, but it did very slowly leak.

In my tail bag, I carry a Slime mini compressor and a tire plugger kit. Under the seat I have spare bulbs (1 head, 1 tail and 1 turn), spare fuses, a Honda tool kit, a Leatherman, zip ties, duct tape, shop towel and flashlight.
I haven't used the tire plugger on my motorcycle, but I did pull a screw out of my old beater pickup truck tire and plugged it. It's been there for a year and does not leak and I have driven a few thousand miles on it.

I have the Stop & Go kit and a mini compressor in the tail bag of my R1200R.
I have a can of Fix a Flat in the tail bag of my Moto Guzzi as it has wire wheels with tubes. I also have a bicycle mini pump attached to one of the grab rails on the Guzzi.
Did not bother with Co2 because I figured I would need a pump should the tires just need to be topped off. Like in a campground in the middle of a 2-3 week trip.
So far the only things I have used are the pumps.
I also have roadside assistance with my AMA membership and my insurance.
