I take it they revised the 14 center stand to a center spring & different bend to also fit the dual exhaust 14 deluxe; but can a 2013 center stand still be installed on a 2014 standard?

I tried searching and found no mention of this.

Does everyone else's oil sight glass have a small screw in the middle. If I could upload a picture, I would. But just picture a small flat head fastener of some kind, with small rubber washers on the inner and outer sections. Is this normal?

If not, why would somebody have put a screw in the sight glass. Thanks everyone

We are officially entering the Holiday Season, and you know what that means. Very distracted drivers, wondering who's bringing cranberry sauce to dinner, whether the boss will give them Christmas week off or not, why does my husband want to start listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving...

And for some reason, everyone forgets how to turn their headlights on.

Within the past two days, I've been cut off twice by daydreaming drivers pulling out from side streets. This morning, it was on my own street. Thankfully, with all of the random driving that must occur in India, Royal Enfield equips their bikes with very effective horns.

Hey guys, these are going fast, but I wanted to share in case anyone's looking for a new jacket. The Tourmaster Navigator caught my eye when it came out around a year ago, but apparently hasn't sold well, as most retailers are now blowing them out for $70.

It's a 3/4 length touring style jacket with plenty of pockets. Monochrome in grey, blue and black. The grey looks almost like a tweed, very snazzy. It's described as a lighter version of the Transition jacket which was my commuting standard, retired after years of service.

There was an online seller who appeared to be linked to local retailers, and sent me to a nearby dealer, but that dealer didn't honor the clearance price, so, might have been a scam. But, upshot is that I got to try it on, and it's very well made. Runs a tad small, so I'd order a size up.

I ordered one of the last grey jackets in my size - looks like that's the color that's selling out the fastest. It will be a nice change when I don't want to wear my day-glo Olympia.

I am in a win, win situation in that whatever the outcome i will have a CB1100, my dilemma is that i currently own 2020 RS, its the blacked out model and there is nothing at all wrong with it however, a blue EX has caught my eye that i personally think looks better so, has anyone swapped an EX for a RS or the other way, if so is there anything that you would care to share in order to help me decide? My mind is set on the blue EX as it was what got me into CBs but unfortunately for me they are pretty rare in the UK so i need to act fast if i decide to swap.

I mentioned in another thread about the unfortunate burning of one of our WW2 era Tustin Hangars, one of the most historic landmarks in the county and one of the largest wooden structures ever built. I’ve been riding to work through the haze of its smoke for the past few days. Turns out the area schools have been closed since the fire due to the amount of asbestos that was released into the smoky air. So we have that goin for us.

Just checked this evening and am reading about a massive pallet fire under the 10 freeway downtown on my commute route to the museum.
Glad I checked, as the freeway is closed until the extent of the damage is determined.

The 10 is an elevated freeway. I think it’s best depiction is a scene in the movie Point Blank, where Lee Marvin destroys a Chrysler Imperial by slamming it into the support columns under the freeway in an attempt to extract information from a mob informant. I’m sure that scene is on YouTube.

These days, the underside of the freeway is largely homeless camps and apparently a massive wooden pallet and crate storage yard. Reeeeaaaly good thinking to put combustible wood under one of the most heavily traveled freeways in the city.

At least I checked before visor down tomorrow morning and the expectation of a nice, quiet Sunday morning commute. Good thing there are other freeways to get me there that aren’t on fire.

Do you ride year round?

Or do you ride seasonally and load up the bike with fuel stabilizer and wait for spring?

I suspect that the CB1100 is going to become a collector's item in the near future, so it makes sense not to ride it during the winter... But I ride mine year round. Texas winters are usually mild but we can have a week or three where it gets stupid-cold.

I dont have a windscreen for the Eleven, but I still try and get her out once a week all winter long. Just avoid the snow and ice, and patches of sand from the sand trucks...

Well it happened. In my mid 60k miles my CB has finally suffered a genuine mechanical fault related only to age and not as a result of my own mistreatment/modification (lol).

During my last trip I noticed significant hesitation and power loss at wide throttle openings and decided to take it to the shop when I got back. The mechanic I found is known for good diagnostic work, so no crappy dealers this time. He found the fuel pump to have gone bad and replaced it, only to find that there's a more pervasive electrical problem that seems to have hastened the demise of the fuel pump. He's replacing a couple relays and may replace the stater. Full report pending completion of the work.

I didn't know how long my boy would go without experiencing it's first true mechanical fault but here we are. A question for the forum: what was your first real mechanical fault ? I'm talking about the bike itself going wrong, not something that stems from an accident or bad work being done or wear parts needing to be replaced or anything like that. Something where the fault lies with the bike itself .it's pretty rare with this bike.
