Well my Foxtel iQ gets a big workout this weekend with both these events on. Fortunately in different hemispheres if I'm in insomniac mode but if I need the sleep not a problem to record and watch at my leisure. At Aragon it looks all good for both Rea and Sykes on the Kwakas but I'm hoping that VDM and his Honda will provide a big challenge and keep in the points game. That young lad can sure ride. At the Termas de Río Hondo a man would have to have his money on Lorenzo, but if he doesn't get an early lead then he looses control of the race and it is game on. The Ducatis have the grunt but MM's got the talent, and a Honda. Go MM. I don't even want to think about #46, he is not a favourite of mine but he still has got the remains of his undoubted talent, immense experience and enough bastardry so he is a real threat (especially if someone tries to go outside him ). However on the other hand, #43, Jack Miller, has got a Honda (of sorts) and he is an Aussie with some talent so he just has to have my best wishes riding with him.

Interesting that, with Hayden gone to WSBK, for the first time in forty odd years there is no American rider in the top class. There has been a real changing of the guard and the glory days of both Australian and US champions battling it out have long gone. There has got to be something wrong at the grass roots level. In OZ, our local events have been plagued by financial and management woes plus competition from many other sports. The international events get a lot of attention but not so the local.

I decided to delete my center stand when I installed my new exhaust. It did come with an adapter bracket, but I never really liked the look of the center stand, and I don't really see the point of carrying the weight all the time for something that (at least me personally) I only use when in my garage. I decided to replace it with a pair of Vortex swingarm spools (m8 x 1.25) and a special adapter for my Pitbull rear stand (designed for the Norton Commando, but will work with basically any twin shock bike).







I definitely like it a lot better and I feel that it's much safer than having the clamps that just rest on the swingarm. The only caveat is that you will need an aftermarket exhaust can for this mod, as there definitely is no clearance between the stock and that shock bolt.

An action cam I did not know about untill a few weeks ago when I was looking around for a compact cam to mount on my helmet, I said on, untill now....

About the cam, it may not be as sharp as a high end GoPro, but still good enough.
And cheaper than the GoPro Session and bit smaller too.



Main specs:
image stabilization;
max res of 1440p;
can do 120fps in 720p;
time laps;
etc

and all that for 150 USD

What I like the most is its very compact with its 35mm x 35mm x 35mm and has a big magnet at the bottom, wich allows a handy person to make something like this.

So what did I do and how did I do it?
I basically installed the cam inside the helmet using a magnet to hold it in place, accidental advantage is it has free movement...because you dont wanna have that fixed when crashing hard.

Some pics to show how I started my little project:

first I cut out a template from a plastic ringmap, the plastic is strong
One side I slide between the shell and the outer lining and on the other side I used the tabs from the inner lining to keep everything in place.


That was actually the hardest part.
Now get the cam and find some magnets, luckely I found some between my tools that were light and strong.

This magnet actually came with packaging, but it was too big to slide under the plastic.

And it was, I could slide it completely underneath the plastic


Now you have a usefull action cam inside a helmet thank to some plastic a a strong magnet.

I'm currently spoiled as I only live about 5 miles from my job in Downtown L.A. I don't even get on the freeway. However, I'm planning to buy a home in the suburbs (home prices in the inner city are exorbitant) in the near future and was looking at all viable commute options.

Has anyone ever crunched the numbers to see how much time can actually be saved commuting on their CB vs cage? Obviously, here in So Cal we have legal lane-splitting, so that is a significant factor.

Pee Wee Herman has a Netflix movie that is excruciating to watch, but he does make a new best friend that rides a Moto Guzzi (V7?). Had to watch the whole thing just to see more of the bike. Wasn't worth it

Im trying to decide between a set of Bridgestone bt45s for 221.76 or a set of Bridgestone bt54s for 238.76. First set is from rocky mountain atv mc with no tax and free shipping and the second set from chaparral motorsports with no tax and free shipping. Thoughts and opinions please. I know these type of questions are very subjective. I currently am still running the stock oem dunlops which came with my bike and are no longer available.

Nice days are coming now...

So I have ridden about 2300 miles on the cb and it seems to have developed a pinging at idle that was not there after the first service. I noticed that it does not come along until the engine is warm or I ride on a warmer day. Sometimes I can get it to come around by accelerating pretty hard and shifting at around 4k rpm. Is this normal?
