Hello Ya'all, I plan to ride my bike to Hudson NY on April 23rd and plan to stay overnight. The place I'm staying does not offer indoor parking. Million to one shot, but thought I'd ask: Does anyone know of a safe place to park my CB in (or around) Hudson NY??? Of course, I'm happy to pay for it. Any leads would be much appreciated.

Spent the last 2 Sunday's detailing the bike. So a few questions...1.) Had some surface spots (pitting?) on the chrome part of the turn signals, hose clamps to radiator, some bolts on the front of the bike and also the black spacers on the front of the bike between the frame and motor. I used Eagle One's Nevr-Dull (see below) on the chrome which I've had good success on past bikes however, I couldn't get the bolts and spacers free on pitting so I ended up using on them as well. Anyone have a better suggestion because the Nevr-Dull isn't suppose to touch lacquer and it's nearly impossible not to hit some of the painted areas while cleaning the bolts and spacers. 2.) What do you use on the seat vinyl? I've tried soap and water but it's dull--doesn't look close too new. I thought about Armor All but I don't want to slide around on the seat.

I'm not usually this anal about taking care of my stuff however, I found with bikes it's easier to maintain than restore back to new-- if you let such things go for over a year you are screwed.

I digg the look of the bike with the rider on it.
But not so much whennthe bike stands on its own.



It may sound strange but I find our bikes look better while someone is sitting on it.
Its seems much easier to make a good looking picture of our bikes while somebody is sitting on it than when it sits alone.

In most cases it doesn't matter that much but I find it makes quit a difference with our bikes, I can't explain why.

Ordered new Renthal low road bars in black for my 2014 standard. Just installed them today. I've seen people with the ultra lows but not the low bars. Here are some pics. Didn't get a chance to test out other than in front of the house and driveway but so far they seem quite comfortable. Down about 1 1/2 to 2" and more fowarded but not that radical of a change. Looks so much nicer, almost like it should have came that way to begin with. I've resorted back to the stock mirrors being that they just fit the era and style of the bike so well and now they are lower with the new bars I just really dug them now. No real noticeable vibration so speak of for now. I've ridden bikes with bars like this before so no real suprise there.

Also installed the renthal bar ends. I ordered some black CNC aluminum levers too. I also have aftermarket mirrors in black and may switch them out now and again.

I just installed this system on my bike, it sounds amazing. i mounted the speakers on the windshield brace and they look good and sound good however the amp is where i'm running into problems, it is very big, if i mount it on the bars i can't see the speed or tach, i have it mounted on the right handlebar right now with zip ties it looks ghetto? any suggestions

I am planning to get a Road Comet 2 fairing for my white 2014 DLX, but have trouble deciding between the smoked or the plain screen ( from a purely esthetic point of view): On the vendor's sites ( Samurider, Webike) you never see the two models in white, and the lighting of the pictures makes it difficult to know whether they show a plain or smoked screen. I have been scanning the forum with the search engine but no luck. So if any member of the forum has already fitted a Road Comet (1 or 2, smoked or plain) on a white CB I would be most happy to see some pictures. Thanks for your help!

So you've got a heated garage, a CB 1100 and enough cash and space for four more current production bikes, what you going to choose? I would choose bikes quite different from one another which could cover all types of riding. My choice would be:

1). KTM 690 - light weight, fast reving, fun on the twisties.

2). Indian Scout - laid back cruiser with sporty engine.

3). Triumph Thruxton - got to have a cafe racer.

4). Yamaha V Max - nothing else like it.

Maybe I'm getting too sentimental, but at this stage of my life I want to be set on rides for the rest of my life.

The CB1100 is just so dang special, and reeks of quality, it makes me sad to see them on the dealer's floors still.

There are new CB1100 2014 standard available for under $8K. That is just nuts.

Thinking about adding a stable mate for my current one. Like the Navy Seals say "two is one and one is none". Haha

I might add, the riding season here in Big Sky country is too short to justify it. I'm gonna move where it's warm and I can ride 12 months out of the year. That's right, I'm moving to a location based on maximum ride time.

I found this delightful lightweight in, of all places, my local bookstore. It led me to have a look at the history of this company. Born in Italy in 1903, Follis finally expired in France in 2006.
