His comments were pretty much what I expected after watching the bikes in action, sitting on one, and looking at the build quality. I'll be content to wait for this one to come out, it looks to be a very fun motorcycle.

I bought a nice 2013 CB1100 and rode it around and got it rained on and rode it down gravel roads and thru mud puddles and and and it took me everywhere I wanted to go.

AND, I was happy.

Fast forward a couple of years, and I now have a 2014 CB1100 Deluxe.
It has some extra "nice to have" stuff, but what's the difference? Even with that 6-speed transmission, I'm not sure that I care, one way or another.

Now, I admit that I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but (having owned both) I simply see no difference in the riding/handling between the two bikes. To the untrained eye, they look virtually identical.....

I had been thinking my F800GS was feeling sluggish for quite a while. It's 85 HP and 470 pounds and lately, the CB1100 has seemed faster. How, with less power and heavier?

I got this GS-911 interface from Hexcode (only works with BMWs) and hooked it up, cleared the service reminder and reset the service interval.

Rode it today, MUCH faster.

I had this same thing happen a couple times after it was serviced at the dealer. New, they come with some timing retard and redline reduced. After the first service it was noticeably quicker.

So what they are doing is, that if the bike is overdue for service, the ECU cuts the power by I would guess around ten percent. Then, once you hook up to the ECU and clear the alert and reset the service interval, it gives you full power.

I mean, the difference was huge. I remember now I used to be able to get the front end just an inch or so off the ground under hard throttle but that was a while back. I can do it again easily now.

Just another way that you need to either pay the dealer a fortune, or have a tool, because with BMW anyway, your power is reduced until you service the bike.

I guess this is the thinking if you happen to be in some remote part of Botswana on world rally, and can't find any parts or service. Reducing power would help prevent engine damage.

Looked this thing over at D&D in Pensacola. very interesting and would be fun to ride but would never want one.

It wasn't until today I realized how messed up I had been for years with that torn groin muscle and protruding guts. I had just adapted to it. It wasn't like some guys get where it just all piles out, just seemed like a small insignificant bulge. But after the surgeon was done he said it was bad, and he had to use both a plug and a patch of mesh. He said that thing should never let loose again.

So today I tried some pushups and what not, it was unbelievable how solid my abs felt as compared to before. Always felt like something was messed up.

A lot of guys I know have said they are putting off that surgery but I can only say if you get a good surgeon and can be patient a few weeks, it could give you a new lease on life. I was always afraid to fully exert myself. It messes with your mind.

That translates straight into a lot more confidence handling motorcycles and other physical tasks.

got out for a short ride along Pensacola Bay downtown and along Scenic Hwy's Cliffs with Oyster beds in one pic and on the fishing bridge open to the public .

Should have bought one before I went down at 5 mph. Anyhow ordered one from Revzilla to cover the spot that got nicked. Will see if it works. Says it fits round mufflers up to 5.5 inches diameter which is about right.

Did about 70 miles this morning on country roads in the south of Pierce County. About 55F and no wind so just about ideal conditions. The very best of our riding season has just started and such a nice change from the heat and humidity of summer.

So I just installed the Arrow Slipon on my 2014 cb.

Anyone who has one I have a question. When I slipped it onto the headers there was about a 2cm gap between the end of the slip on and the end of the header connector. Meaning it didn't slip on 100% of the length of the header connector. There's no room for air to get in just curious is this is normal. With the clamp tightened I highly doubt any leaks would occur. If I do slip it on !00% of the length the mounting bolt does not align properly

My previous slipon the Yoshimure RS3 fit the entire length of the connector.
