Is that you can just release the clutch at 1st gear slowly to get the bike going, no throttle needed. Is this normal?

Just curious how set up techs know where to put our handlebars and controls when seting up our bikes for the first time. Do the bars have dimples like old bikes or is it all personal taste in positioning?

It has Staintune exhaust and some other accessories.. but it doesn't have windshield. I'm getting the puig one that exclusively for cb1100.

The original owner replaced the handle bar to low handle bar. I like its blacked out looking but it's not very comfortable for me. Should I use a bar riser or replace it back?

On todays ride I watched the gauge drop from 1 bar to blinking to count down. When I noticed counting down it said 60 miles until empty. Found a station at 45 miles till empty

Trip B which I use for tank mileage said I had gone 189.5 miles

It took 3.69 gals to fill which computes by calculator to just over 51 mpg.

With a 4.7 gal tank that would leave me about 1 gallon left or about 51 miles. Computer said 45. That was within 6 miles. That's darn close.

should work out to about 235 miles before having to push it lol.

I rode to work yesterday no problem. On my way home the bike had a mind of it's own. Steering got heavy and my back tire was drifting. I pulled over and sure enough I had a flat tire. Now My first instinct was crap I don't have a flat kit or a pump. Luckily my coworker spotted me and filled up my tire. I noticed it was a slow leak so I rode to my dealer (mile away) cautiously. I asked them to fix my tire and they said they do not patch or re-stem tires??? They said I'd have to buy a new tire. The only one they had in stock was $190 for a michelin extended life tire... No thanks. I checked my PSI and my tire was still full so i thought screw this I'll ride home and order a tire online. The dealer said 140-70-18 tires are hard to find and expensive.

Fast forward to today i checked my tire this morning and it's at 36psi. Last night it was 42psi. wtf when I left work it was completely flat. Should I buy a new tire or have someone re-stem it?? No noticeable holes or nails in the tire so think the the valve is the problem. I am stumped right now.

Aside from reprinting a long Cycle World review of the bike, it also led me to what may have been the original advertisement for the CB1100 uploaded in 2009.

So I took a personal day from work for tomorrow a few weeks ago and signed up for the Lee Parks Arc level 1 hoping the weather would be ok. Watching the forecast show a high as low as 5 (40) and lots of rain, the day tomorrow shows a low of 7 (45) and a high of 12 (55). May in Canada can be all over the place, I'm quite happy with tomorrow's forecast! I was expecting to ride there (about 45 minutes away) in much cooler temperatures.

I took this risk because this was the only day this year that Lee himself would be running the course in Toronto. The course begins at 8 am and runs to 6pm.

Ok so my first oil change was at ~ 600 miles. I decided to do another oil change at ~ 1880 miles given the engine is fairly new. So the interval is only ~ 1200 miles

- Prior to the oil change I did a 100 mile ride so the bike was hot.
- When I opened the drain bolt the oil gushed out rapidly due to the oil being very warm-hot.
- Filter came off easily as well
- Used Oil color was chocolate brown..
- Replenished with Honda 10W30 and OEM Honda Filter + Crush Washer.
- This time I almost emptied the 4 quart Honda 10W30 can..
- Fired up the engine.. no new noises anywhere in the engine / crankcase.. I always make sure the bike is in upright position when I first start the bike..don't ask me why...
Feels great.. happy to have the CB1100 in my stable..
