Hi guys, I recently bought my Cb, but the previous owner removed the center stand for some reason. Since I plan to do all the regular maintenance myself so I want to put it back...

Is there an instruction of how to do it?

I need a new chain and unfortunately need it in a couple of days. That eliminates buying the OEM chain from a Honda parts house as they won't even begin to ship until 5-6 days.

Best I can tell the correct size measurements are the pitch and length.

If I am correct it looks like the chain should be a 520 pitch with 120 links.

Looking at chain descriptions at suppliers websites online it looks like the next thing I need to make sure I account for is the load put on it by a 1000cc engine and that the chain is designed for street use not off-road.

I'm not sure if there are number/letter designations to help identify that aspect of the chain.

Does anyone know?

Any advice or experience greatly appreciated in helping identify a suitable chain I can order quickly.

I attempted to communicate with IKON today. I called a number that one of our members had posted: (415) 738-9441. Answering machine responded, but didn't tell me who I reached. I wanted to talk with 'Dave' who either works for IKON or represents them in the US.

Has anyone here recently been in touch with Dave? I've got to purchase some aftermarket suspension for my 2014. I'm considering the Model 7610 - 1507 with black body, spring, and cap. But before I order, I want to have a discussion about shock rate, damper system, proper length shock, and a few other things. The CB is really beating me up on our scenic but less than perfectly surfaced roads, and my 160# weight. I plan to start with the shocks, and if lighter and lower fork oil doesn't fix the front end, I'll do something more extensive to it, too.

This weekend near my place, Honda was doing test ride days. This is a great place to ride, with one of the most popular motorcycle riding roads of the area, and this time of the year there are ride days almost every weekend. Next should be BMW and then Ducati, but this time it was Honda!

So, yesterday I headed down there with my brother to have a look. I had in mind to try the new CB1100s so as to compare to my 2014 EX.

First the EX. I think the new tank looks better in real life than in pictures. Mind you, I still prefer mine, especially the all silver engine, but otherwise things were pretty much the same. It was strange though as it felt a bit lighter than mine even if there is no actual difference. All in all, I am happy to see that they continue with this wonderful bike, and have been able to make some minor aesthetic changes which are quite successful. Both the old and the new look great.

The the RS. I really do like the looks! For me the first thing is the new handle bar, and I am convinced to get the same one for my bike. I have been wanting a lower bar for a while, and the one on the RS is perfect for me. The shocks are better, and allow perhaps for a sportier ride, as does the 180 rear. that said, I actually prefer the softer feel on mine, as well as the more nimble 140 rear. So, great looking bike that I am sure I would have bought if I did not have my current one, and I will get those bars!

After that, I had a go on the Africa Twin. I used have the 750 back in the 90's , and always loved that bike. This new one was really amazing! I found it very comfortable, and way more nimble than the likes of the GS. I could really imagine having one of these to go touring with! Tried also the automatic version which was very disturbing to me at first, but extremely efficient. I didn't feel like I was pushing hard, but my brother on the standard Africa was struggling to keep up, and we ride in a very similar way. Great stuff!

Well nuts. I've had headlight bulbs last 10 years. Just went out to start the CB in the garage, fired it up and noticed there wasn't a light shining on my work bench.Walked around front. Darkness. Flipped high beam switch and high beam came on. So low beam is out. Good thing I leave for the rally NEXT Monday and not this morning.

Guess I will ride up to the shop tomorrow and hope they have a bulb in stock.

Has anybody ridden one of these? Wondering how they compare to the old and of course to the CB. I am considering both bikes but do you think the CBR5 is worth it at 2000 less?

When someone sees you have a new car it’s usually positive but roll up on a bike and the skeletons start crawling out the woodwork. The cage dweller will start telling stories of motorcycle accidents of past. Some even give detailed descriptions of fatally, gore, blood etc. I’m not new to riding and understand its part of the package but just not sure why people feel the need to say it. Yes, I understand it’s dangerous, yes I’ve personally lost a friend riding, yes I’ve had two cars creep into my lane this past week but I’m still riding and will continue riding because it’s what I love to do. It's what makes me happy.

Anyone have a link or recommendation. All the local shops don't seem to have one that will go low enough for some of the bolts on the CB1100. Rear upper shock is at 6.6 foot lbs.

inch lbs have a conversion ?

Possibly silly question. Just don't have much experience with them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
