Ok, I lied. Not done with the farkling. When I added the comet fairing my lollipops appear more "off". I saw these Barren Classic mirrors in another thread but they are hard to source on the web. I found them on the Monotaro site but I don't think they ship to the US? Anyone find them elsewhere?

What tire pressure do you all prefer? I have a 2014 standard and I weigh about 220lbs.

I love this bike. It is beautiful in black and the overall quality of fit and finish on this bike is stunning.
I have a Yoshimura slip on for a little extra sound. And thanks to this forum a K&H high seat coming from Japan in next few weeks.

The seat to peg distance is ok but my long legs need more distance.
Hopefully the taller/firmer seat will help.

Tonight I removed the rubber covers on the rider footpegs. It will give me about 1/2 inch more room and will help my ankle angle with the rear brake pedal. Multiple ankle injuries make bending my ankle challenging.

I thought about getting an extra set of extra passenger pegs and using them to replace the standard rider pegs. The knurled surface on them looks good and overall the passenger pegs are very high quality.

Any recommendations or advice is welcome. Thanks.

I often review a post I've initiated, and think that I should have stated something differently/better. But the short time allowed to edit a post prevents that. Can something be done to let a forum member update or change a post a day (or several days) after the initial post.

It wouldn't have to allow the OP to modify or delete their original post, but it would permit them to add an EDIT at the bottom of it ...... ie, to restate their original position. Other sites permit this.

Saw a red, modded CB1100 heading towards Ogden, Utah today around 4:45 pm. Couldn't catch before I had to turn off. Anybody here? Only the second CB I've seen in the wild and the first one on the road. Rider had on all the gear Strong Work!

My 2014 CB does amaze me in one aspect in particular ....... specifically, how it rolls into a turn and subsequently holds the line.

I don't know if it is specifically the bike's rake/trail/etc, or in large part due to the oem tires, but this bike inspires a lot of confidence in me when I take on some familiar twists and turns. She doesn't steer too lightly, but seems to be 'just right' when entering a turn marked '40 mph' at 60 mph.

No drama, just a secure feeling as she grooves thru the turn.

I'm beginning to gain an appreciation for this heavyweight that feels like a lightweight once she's rolling!

I posted to another thread on this forum a while back that my CB is one of the worse shifting bikes I have ever owned. It shifted clunky from day one, but I attributed that to needing some time for break-in. It did start shifting better as the miles added up, but after about the 6,000 mile point it began shifting clunky (noisy) again. I learned early on that this bike is extremely sensitive to chain adjustment and I always keep an eye on my chain slack and lube it about every 500 miles. What I discovered is as I rotated my chain through one full revolution it went from tight to loose. It didn’t have a tight “spot”, it just gradually would tighten, then loosen again. So I adjusted it to the nominal slack value when it was at its tightest spot, and left it at that. I normally get around 25,000 miles on an O-ring chain so I wasn’t about to replace this one after less than 10,000 miles. What I did to fix my clunky transmission was to change chain lube brands. I have been using Chain Wax on my VFR800 for over 100,000 miles, and have never had a problem with it, and this is what I had been using on the CB. When my dealer was out of the Chain Wax I purchased PJ1 Blue Label chain lube. The first time I applied it I felt an immediate improvement in shifting! The first to second gear shifts can now be made nearly silently, and every other gear change is even quieter! I checked my chain slack, and now as I rotate it through a full revolution the tension remains fairly constant. Somehow my chain had developed the condition described above while using the Chain Wax brand of chain lubricant that the PJ1 Blue Label chain lubricant cured. It looks like I will be using PJ1 Blue Label chain lubricant on all of my bikes from now on, and I won’t be saying that my CB1100 has a clunky shifting transmission. Has anybody else ever seen anything like this?

I just changed my oil on my 2014 standard. I used 10w30sj GN4 motorcycle oil. I used a KN 204 filter that matches the model. When I run the bike the engine is rattling. What gives? I hope beyond hope that it is the loosening of valves but it sounds crappy. Any thoughts?
