Does anyone know if the chain guard on the 2017 will fit on a 2013?
I have never liked the plastic one and the metal unit on the 17 looks alot like the Mugen CB1100 guard from 2013.

I checked the part numbers on the two swingarms and they are not the same. The 2013 swingarm is 52200-MGC-000 and the 2017 number is 52200-MGC-JB0

It's $96 on Partzilla, Part # 0510-MGC-JB0, so it would be good to know if it fits before I order.

So my other bike is a KLR650...several years ago I used to check out daily a KLR forum that grew to be the best site for KLR talk, issues, repairs, how-tos, meet-ups, etc...just like this site. I learned so much and was so appreciative of all the info.

Then one day...Poof! Gone.

I don't remember what exactly happened, but there was no access to the site for a few days, then it comes back but very bare-boned, with nearly all threads gone due to some online storage corruption. The site slowly grew back a bit, but nothing like it was before. I think a lot of members moved on to other KLR sites.

I have already started to save some of the maintenance threads on a flash drive. I don't understand how internet storage for forums works, but I'd like to know if there exists a backup to all the info stored here. I'd hate to open this forum some day and see that blank page again.

Does anybody else frequently/occasionally experience difficulty inserting the key into the ignition? It happens often enough to me that I'm posting here to see if I'm the only one. Maybe my technique is bad? Maybe there's a special technique?

I noticed today that my clock was 7 minutes fast. I set the clock exactly to cell phone time on or about when we went on Daylight Savings Time on 2017 March 12th. That was 215 days ago. Let's call it 7 months ago. Is anybody else's clock running a minute faster than cell phone time per month?

I don't know any other way to explain, when I pull the front brake on my CB it feels like it's pulsating, like hitting ABS hard. But I don't have ABS!!
The pads look good, not worn more on one side or other, I bled the system, all seems to be good. Could the disc's have warped??? Anyone else experience this on their bike???

I lost a dear friend yesterday. Suzanne was a 40+ year rider, Iron Butt competitor, always ATGATT (including neon yellow reflective vest and multiple reflective strips on her helmet and the back of her R1200RT), and her bike had a very bright flashing LED Hyperlite brake light. She was a very conscientious and safety-oriented motorcyclist. The accident occurred in the middle of the day. This has shaken me to the core.

Being uncertain who has heard more detail since yesterday’s message, this is going to everyone.

Steve, Suzanne, and another couple were in the midst of an afternoon ride, northbound on U.S. 85 waiting at a red signal to turn left into Sedalia. They were in the left turn lane with Steve leading and Suzanne in the last position. The lights for northbound traffic are red. Steve recalls hearing (a pop?) a helmet bouncing across the southbound side of the road as he was looking slightly left, and he saw Suzanne's helmet moving away. He turned to the right and saw Suzanne on the east side of the road. He did not see the hit & run vehicle that hit Suzanne and ran the light. Three nurses were close by and were the first to assist Suzanne. Someone notified 911, deputies and the Patrol responded quickly, and later the paramedics. Someone gave a good enough description to the 911 dispatcher that an alert deputy further north was able to apprehend the hit & run driver within minutes. It is likely Suzanne never knew what happened. She was a tissue donor. Memorial plans are pending. Steve indicates, "No calls, please, for now."

Thanks to you who used Facebook to spread the news. Suzanne had more friends than we know. Please try to keep them in the loop.

I'm sitting on the side of hwy 28, 20miles south of Nephi, UT.

The engine just quit as I was riding along at 65 mph. Won't restart.

The oil temp light and oil pressure light come on when I turn the key, but no fuel pump sounds.

Verified that the kill switch is in the run position and cycled it a few times.

Tow truck is on the way, but if you've got any ideas I'd love to hear them.
