I tried posting some images from my Photobucket account and discovered that I must now pay an additional $400 a year for this option. Anyone else run into this yet?

Found this beauty on kijiji for $50. Met a heck of a nice guy with lots of beats stories to tell, I was there way longer than intended. He was also fascinated with the CB, I think he had a road king HD. Anyhow the jacket is a bit small, but I intend to shed a few more pounds so this will pick up the slack when my Oxblood Taurus gets too big. Also any Dirk Gently fans may be a tad jealous!! The brand is British Cycle Leathers made in Canada, don't know when, but the stitching is great and the leather feels like a competition weight Vanson.

My Dlx has left the garage for a new home, Jay picked up his new bike yesterday and he may be joining the forum. I told him if he joins to let you guys know he has my Dlx. I will miss owning such a great machine but my body hurts too much to ride it enough. I may check in once in a while to see what you guys are up to...

It's a slow night...my rides will be less frequent and for shorter distances as the NW rains begin to compete with beautiful fall days. My KLR650 is my rain bike--the CB1100 is just too pretty for me to ride it daily in adverse conditions. But I still ride it a couple times of week all winter long.

I bought my '14 standard new Jan 2 of 2016, so I'm coming up on two years of ownership. I went back and forth between the Triumph Street Twin, Moto Guzzi V7 and the CB1100. At the time, the Street Twin was just coming out and I didn't figure they would lower MSRP at around 9K something, and the Honda was simply a much better bike than the MG, so I went with the standard for less than 8k--a good price then.

Initially, I'll have to admit, I wasn't so sure of my decision. It felt fine on a test ride, but at nearly 6'4" I soon felt I was too tall for the bike on hour plus rides. It was too quiet, too refined...or was it? Besides the KLR650, I had a Sportster before the CB...a 2004 1200C. The internet forums said upgrade this, buy exhaust that, new seat, etc...and I listened. This time I was determined to let the CB1100 stock self speak to me before I did anything major to it. Instead of a new seat, I added a foam pad to raise the height and comfort. Instead of rushing out to buy exhaust, I tried to retrain my brain to accept its smooth hum. But for a long trip, I put on crash bars and forward pegs to have somewhere else to put my feet.

Now, nearly two years later, I ask myself..."so, what do you you think?" Keep in mind I'm one of those lucky ones with the high / low idle issue for 4 months now at 10k miles on the bike. I still have the original tires on the bike. I haven't had to adjust the chain since the 600 mile service. I have had zero issues besides the idle. The exhaust...sounds wonderful...the seat...awesome. I can't think of anything I want to do to this bike other than...ride it!

I am concerned about the idle issue long term. It doesn't stall on me, so that's huge. But despite this issue, I am growing to really dig this bike. Today I got on for the first time after two weeks (bought a new pickup, so the CB got neglected for a spell). Wow. Such a sublime ride. I know you folks like your red CBs, but if you're gonna go black, the combo of chrome, other bits of sparkle, the red/grey relief on the black tank, tubeless tires (a first for me!) with black rims...for me they add up to a beautiful machine.

Lone story short...I'm liking my bike more now, let's say a good 50% more, than when I first bought it, even though it has that issue.

What say ye? After two, three, four or more years of ownership, what do you think of your CB1100 now? Has it exceeded your expectations? Does it do all you want it to? Or are you thinking it's time to move on because of this or that?

The planets magically aligned and my back pain let up enough for me to make some short rides this week on my new to me Corbin Gunfighter seat.

In total I logged just under 300km in a series of short rides, mostly around 40km in length and I have to say it is a vast improvement over the stock seat. I know from experience that I need a wider seat and the Gunfighter's built in seat bucket (I don't know the technical term, if there is one) seems like it was custom built for my butt. It is very firm and supportive and the sides don't collapse under my weight (215lbs now, down 50lbs from 265lbs a year ago) like most stock seats.

The only real complaint I have is it seems to have moved me back on the bike and increased my forward lean slightly but I have orangutan arms so I have been able to adjust.

Overall a very good investment for me.

So, picked up my brand new 2017 model CB1100 rode it to the petrol station (approx 5 miles). every time I stopped at lights, when I came to pull away it would jump out of first gear and leave me stranded. I thought it may be the "newness" so persevered. Tried putting it in gear more firmly................same issue. Tried pulling away while holding it in gear...............it still tried it's best to jump out.
I returned to Honda, and the salesman swiftly took it round the back for them to "have a look". The junior technician took it for a spin and reported back that there was indeed an issue. The senior technician then took it for a spin, and when he returned he confirmed that there is definitely an issue.
I was then offered a courtesy bike which would have to be returned next day because it was booked out, but they would sort me out with a "long term" loaner!!
Anyway, when I returned the next day, they had spoken to Honda who confirmed this was a known issue and the selector mechanism and cover will need to be replaced, which will take a week or 2.
I now have an Africa Twin and await for news of my new bike.
To be fair they did offer to get me a CB1100 demo, which I declined because I would like to give the Africa a go.
So up to now not overly impressed with the CB1100

Has anyone fitted a rack to a 2015 SA-E model.

I have tried one rack but that did not fit and have been advised that I may need to modify the bike to get any to fit this model which I am reluctant to do.

Any advice please?

Well, I finally pulled trigger and ordered seat from their website. Thank you to all forum members research and advice. I ordered the tall seat and firmer seat foam. I hope this solves my challenge of slightly cramped seat to peg distance. The pics I have seen show high quality. The price was a little eye watering at $590 shipped from Japan but it should make my riding more comfortable. I'll post pics after it arrives and I install it. My iPhone pics, even after editing, keep saying they are too big to post. I still need some tutoring on loading pics here but I'll try my best.
Should be a few weeks until I start peeking up my ears for UPS driver.

Hello everyone! Been having fun with my new 14 CB leftover i just bought about a month ago. So far i did the Corbin gunfighter, RLETs, and Dart flyscreen. Super happy with all of them! Anyway, got the black SW Motech engine guards coming Saturday and just doing some research here so im ready when they come in. If the instructions dont list torque specs do you guys know what they are? Thanks!
