Hey folks, I know some people have been running this size on their bikes - especially the Pilot Road 3. I picked up a set of Bridgestone T31s in the OEM front and 160/60 rear (140/70 is only available in international markets), since Bridgestone is running a nice rebate on pairs & ive had a great experience with the A41s on my Tenere that were also released last year. However, looking at Bridgestones site, I realized they recommend them for a 4.5” rim - is the Pilot the same, or does Michelin support a 4” rim for it? I couldn’t find rim widths listed on their site.

I ordered the OEM tires for the 2013 V7R from Revzilla. Pirelli Sport Demons. The first Rear Sport Demon lasted about 3200 miles before I replaced it. The second one still had a little life left at 7,100 miles and the front tire was showing cupping but also needed to be replaced. Loaded the bike, tires and new inner tubes up and hauled it down to a motorcycle specialty shop in Salt Lake City.





This shop does serious work on hard core 2 wheeled rolling stock.

I spent a lot of time looking at this low milage CBX that was for sale:

They had fixed my leaking rear seal on the V7R a few months ago and I had a good experience with them. While there they flushed the brakes, replaced the oil filter and oil and mounted the tires with no scuffing to the black anodized rims.

While waiting for them to do the work I unhitched the trailer and parked it in their lot and ran off to downtown Salt Lake City with my wife to do some shopping at a local German Delicatessen and down the road from there a German Bakery. She spent about as much on food as I did on the bike service as she was buying for our two adult daughters as well as us.

After hitting the German deli's I convinced my wife that the rational thing to do is to head to a motorcycle dealer that also sells German Bikes to do some window shopping. She sat in the truck to give me "my space" and I spent about an hour walking around looking at everything in detail with the sales staff also giving me "my space".

Right as we rolled into the parking lot I noticed the 2017 with 8 thousand miles sitting out front. Asking price is $10,000.



I'm a sucker for anything even remotely close to a café.

Good looking Thruxton but the wrong color for my tastes. Love the fairing.



Couple of Beemers. If pressed I'd probably pick the Scrambler over the café but only due to ergonomics. That R9T Café really stretches me horizontally across the tank. No doubt it's a looker though.






What I thought was the best looking paint scheme in the store (even with those gold forks). If this would have had a painted to match bullet fairing on it God only knows what stupid thing I might have done.



A 2019 Triumph Bobber the dealer did some small custom touches to. Shortened Fenders, Removed tail light and incorporated brakes into blinkers, added white walls and a couple other minor mods. $15,400 as it sits there.

I work nights so sometimes on my weekend I’m up when everyone else is sleeping. During this time I find myself surfing YouTube. So if there are worthwhile or at least entertaining mc people you like at the moment, I would sure like to hear about them! I’ve watched MCrider, who is good for riding tips, and Yammienoob, who is a millennial train wreck, but entertaining nevertheless.

My 2013 CB1100 on occasion fails to start. Ignition switch on as well as neutral light. Kick stand up. No response of any kind when I push starter button? After turning key on and off and flipping kick stand up and down repeatedly it decides to start...so far. Any ideas as to where the problem might be? Low mileage garage kept bike.

I'm still hoping to get to take a demo ride on a CB1000 as soon as the weather improves and my dealer brings one on the floor (as he promised me he is doing), but I wonder what about this bike is not to your liking. No bike is totally perfect, and asking this question might be helpful to me in getting a better understanding of the pro's and con's of this model.

I'll admit I'm spoiled with my current ride, a 2016 Goldwing. And not just for the cool features like cruise control and the built in nav system, etc. but for the ample locked storage capability. Even if not going on a multi day ride, I have stuff that I like to always keep with me, including a rain suit, a tire repair kit, a first aid kit, extra pair of gloves, a baseball cap (for when off the bike) and other little things. But I am thinking about getting a CB1100 both as a second bike now, and when the 900 pound GW just gets too much for this old guy to handle, as my then primary ride. And it made me think, what to do for storage?

Personally, I don't want to have a backpack with me every time I ride. Most of my riding is in the summer, and its just too hot to have a backpack sitting on my back. I guess I could buy some nylon or other soft throw-over the seat type bags, but wondered what the rest of you do for just regular, everyday storage needs.

Being new to biking I'm not sure of the answer to this question...

When I hold the handlebar and extend my fingers in the same line/plane as my forearm, my fingers are a good 2cm, or nearly an inch, below the brake lever, clutch level and natural rest position of the throttle.

In other words, my hands are always bent upwards rather than being straight out...

...is this right?

To 'fix' this, it possible to rotate the handlebars forward to achieve that 'straight' position.

Help! I want to put bulbs down lower on my fender license bracket and holes drilled and ready but not sure if while
Fender has to come off and remove wires from har eras or just clip and rewire from wherever?
