Bikes, Brats, and Bread with lots of pictures
#1
I ordered the OEM tires for the 2013 V7R from Revzilla. Pirelli Sport Demons. The first Rear Sport Demon lasted about 3200 miles before I replaced it. The second one still had a little life left at 7,100 miles and the front tire was showing cupping but also needed to be replaced. Loaded the bike, tires and new inner tubes up and hauled it down to a motorcycle specialty shop in Salt Lake City.

This shop does serious work on hard core 2 wheeled rolling stock.

Pics of stuff sitting around there either being worked on or for sale.

I spent a lot of time looking at this low milage CBX that was for sale:

The bikes in the rack are not for sale, display only. Notice the Honda NR with oval pistons on the bottom left...insert slobbering emoj here.

They had fixed my leaking rear seal on the V7R a few months ago and I had a good experience with them. While there they flushed the brakes, replaced the oil filter and oil and mounted the tires with no scuffing to the black anodized rims.

While waiting for them to do the work I unhitched the trailer and parked it in their lot and ran off to downtown Salt Lake City with my wife to do some shopping at a local German Delicatessen and down the road from there a German Bakery. She spent about as much on food as I did on the bike service as she was buying for our two adult daughters as well as us.

Brats:

After hitting the German deli's I convinced my wife that the rational thing to do is to head to a motorcycle dealer that also sells German Bikes to do some window shopping. She sat in the truck to give me "my space" and I spent about an hour walking around looking at everything in detail with the sales staff also giving me "my space".

Right as we rolled into the parking lot I noticed the 2017 with 8 thousand miles sitting out front. Asking price is $10,000.

I'm a sucker for anything even remotely close to a café.

Good looking Thruxton but the wrong color for my tastes. Love the fairing.

Couple of Beemers. If pressed I'd probably pick the Scrambler over the café but only due to ergonomics. That R9T Café really stretches me horizontally across the tank. No doubt it's a looker though.

What I thought was the best looking paint scheme in the store (even with those gold forks). If this would have had a painted to match bullet fairing on it God only knows what stupid thing I might have done.

A 2019 Triumph Bobber the dealer did some small custom touches to. Shortened Fenders, Removed tail light and incorporated brakes into blinkers, added white walls and a couple other minor mods. $15,400 as it sits there.

I'm bumping up against the 14 max pics for one post so I'll finish this up and might post some more random pics separately in another reply.

Great eye candy Frulk. Almost like I was there with you, except I cannot taste those German treats Undecided . Never seen a Honda NR (RC40?) in person. Only read about them.

What is the size of that moving trailer? 5'x8'?

More pics I couldn't include above. This was a multi-brand dealer and they were literally just finishing the expanded showroom for the Triumphs and moving clothing and bikes in. This was going to be the Moto Guzzi Showroom before they dropped the brand.

They rolled the matte black Bobber over in the rain as the first bike on the showroom floor:

They had a used one with apes in pretty good shape in the other showroom:

I had dang near come to the point of buying a left over new red FB6 from the Honda dealer that sold me the CB. I love the way they look from certain angles but definitely from the rear.

I'm also a fan of the Speedmaster. They had a nice one in another area with double seats and a low sissy bar. Looked really good.

Lots of Ducati's and other bikes crammed into this space due to the construction:

I think this bike might have belonged to one of the dealer employees:

The dealer was prepping some new Utah Highway Patrol Beemers:

The pipe on the back of this bike is a popular local mod on ADV bikes. Probably used for trout rod transport.

Random pic from the shop floor that was working on my Guzzi.

Gold Oxide, to answer your question about the trailer. Yes 5X8. Very light. Painted floor with oil based decking paint. Mounted tie down recessed loops to the floor through the steel cross beams. Works great for one bike about the size of our CB. Can be lifted with one arm and moved around the Driveway.

I use it to haul bikes to southern Utah during the winter and then use it as basic shelter. Low maint. Bought it off a friend for $450 (I think). Would like it to have a drop gate but for the price I can't complain.

Thanks Frulk - sounded like a no-brainer. Sweet arrangement and some wonderful backdrops.

Nice collections of bikes, they must be a decent shop to have customers bring that variety of bike in for service. Beautiful backdrop too.

My wife and I had considered using an enclosed bike trailer for a camper years ago but alas at this point in our lives we need more than an enclosed trailer can provide ( heat, air conditioning, bathroom facitilties, shower), plus I really don't care to pull them.

Lol. It does look like that. Pic was from a southern Utah Road trip I took and can be found at this link in two parts I think.
