This video finally made clear to me how an oxigen sensor works and why it's output produces a variable wave instead of a straight line graph.

In short; the sensor operates within a narrow band and measures the exhaust gas, tells the ecm if the value is too rich or too lean and tries to keep the optimum stoichiometric air/fuel ratio at 14:1.

The ecm then adjusts the short term a/f ratio to maintain this value which is important for the functioning of the catalytic converter.

Over time the ecm learns this trend and produces an internal "map" of values for various engine speeds and other inputs, this is called "long term fuel trim" and is stored in memory to provide a base line for a/f control.

If there is a fault in the fuel system ( vacuum leak ) the ecm re-learns the "map" and changes some values in it, once the fault has been repaired these "wrong" values need to be reset by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes which does a reset and then re learns a new set over time.( not sure about this but a good possibility )

This may be important info for the ones that remove the battery from the bike for storage!

As i am not knowledgeable enough to give any advice, may well be wrong in what i just stated and may not relate to our bikes i want you to not rely on my explanation, however there may be some info here that explains IF there is some unexplainable subtle behavior change with battery replacement.
Not trying to panic anyone, nothing is wrong, just some careful subtle advice with a little back ground.

If there is a better or more correct explanation out there i am sure we would like to hear it.

Just a well done video with great audio of a couple of good sounding bikes running through the European countryside. If on a computer put it on full screen to really enjoy the camera work and cornering of these old school bikes. What's interesting is that while on full screen I found myself involuntarily tilting my head as the bike entered the corners.

383 (5) An individual may engage in lane filtering only when the following conditions
384 exist:
385 (a) the individual is operating a motorcycle;
386 (b) the individual is on a roadway divided into two or more adjacent traffic lanes in the
387 same direction of travel;
388 © the individual is on a roadway with a speed limit of 45 miles per hour or less;
389 (d) the vehicle being overtaken in the same lane is stopped;
390 (e) the motorcycle is traveling at a speed of 15 miles per hour or less; and
391 (f) the movement may be made safely.

In general this won't do much for most of us in this state. The roads where I live, when they do back up all have speed limits above 45 MPH so it won't be legal to filter. Most 45mph roads around here are secondary roads between neighborhoods and main arteries and freeways where speed limits are usually 55mph or higher....that's where the real traffic problems develop when construction isn't involved.

I think we still have a thread going about trailering a bike and tie down points and so forth. So, I loaded the bike into a small 5X8 trailer I picked up from a friend.



The ramp I picked up at Harbor Freight. I never buy anything mechanical/electrical from them but I will buy things like this. The load rating is for 1,100 pounds. However, when I rolled the CB on it for the first time there was some (in my estimation) significant flex. Afterwards I noticed a few heads off pop rivets laying on the ground.



So I fixed that:



Then I REALLY fixed it by bolting 3 boxed IRON rails underneath. Heavy as heck now but pretty solid.



Inside the trailer is a removable chock with 2X6's bolted to it to give it a wider stance for increased stability. Tie downs are anchored into metal sub frame of trailer. I move the chock between my trailers depending on what my needs are at the time.



Dropped the CB off for new plugs, valve adjustment as required , rear brake pad replacement and brake fluid flush. estimated at $600.

Middle aged Shop tech rolled bike inside the store, on the main floor and said "Never seen one of these before, this is a looker, going right in the place of honor in the middle"

Can anybody help me with my desire to do "motorcycle cinematography" while touring?

Last summer I bought a Sena 10C helmet cam for my annual xcountry trip. It was my 1st exposure to motorcycle cinematography for posting to Facebook/etc ... it was a disaster.
The problems I encountered:
1. Not hands free.
2. Terrible iPhone config app (no realtime preview).
3. Mic/wind noise was extreme which made simultaneous helmet mic recording impossible.
4. I don't have much editing experience, plus it hard to do on an iPhone.

Hoping that a new/different cam (like GoPro, etc) and some type of tablet or iPhone editing app will solve my "video dummy' problem

Been reading your posts on the o2 eliminator. My bike is showing similar symptoms so I’m keen to get my hands on one. Again can only find them for sale in the US and UK to suit 2013-16. Can anyone confirm if these fit our Aussie/Jap 2010-11?

I just took dimension with the road ( slide on the road) so some parts have scraped :

- Speedometer indicator casing
- Engine left cover
- Inox cover of headlight.
