Hi guys, when i bought my bike used, previous owner had install a R's Gear Wyvern Full system exhaust. The header are burn beautifully with some color. However, after I have used the bike for few years, the rest of the titanium header seems to be turning gold/brown and the color on the header are losing contrast. Is there a way for me to reduce the browning while retaining the color part? found some info on the internet which involve polishing everything, meaning the color part will be removed as well, which i don't want..... Hoping to find a way to restore the color like previously.

After 3 seasons and 12,000 miles, I'm switching from Honda to Triumph. I had just left the Honda dealer in Middlefield, Ohio with 4 quarts of GN 10w30 oil and a filter.

Needed to stop by the local BMW dealer for a filter and oil for the old (1991) R100GS.

This was last Saturday, cloudy, not a riding day, so I was caging it. When I pulled into the BMW dealer's lot, what is parked in front of me but a lovely 2016 Triumph T 120. My closest riding buddy has a 2016 in the same color scheme .... cranberry and silver. It was a trade in.

This particular Bonnie has a grand total of 1500 miles on the odometer. So we're dealing. I absolutely didn't want to go from 3 to 4 bikes in the garage. The 2008 Guzzi 1200 Sport wouldn't bring any trade in dollars. And for sure I wasn't trading my 1991 R100GS I've owned since April, 1991. So it is with very mixed emotions that I'm trading the CB1100 on the T 120.

taking the plunge and buying a lower seat finally. Is there any benefit to buying the K+H low seat (30 inches) versus buying the Japanese stock seat? Samurider says

both are 30 inches... if i can spend 300 dollars versus 600 dollars i'd be a much happier camper. Does the K+H scoop type seat help out a short rider like me? 5 foot 6, pretty sad inseam lol.

I'm a firm believer in the "Triangle of Light" in the front of a bike for visibility.

Since much of my riding since returning to work is splitting lanes in heavy traffic, I try to think of the point of view of a driver glancing in his mirror before making a move in traffic. A single headlight in his mirror blends into heavy traffic, and looks like half of a car.

Because of this, I have two small LED lights below and to the sides of my main headlight to distinguish me as a motorcycle. Both bikes have a similar round headlight, and both run the same LED bulb. Both bikes run similar auxiliary single LED floodlights. Both have stock exhausts and I'm riding at relatively low speed, so it would be hard for a driver to hear me approach on either bike.

Here's where they are a bit different, and observing how cars react to me in traffic, I've found something kind of interesting.

On the Bonneville, it was easy to mount the auxiliary lights on an aftermarket turn signal relocation bracket, which puts them just outside the forks about two inches below the headlight.

On the CB, the aux lights are attached to the fender mounts, which put them outside the forks but much lower than the lights on the Bonneville.

Both bikes are about the same size in terms of visible frontal mass, and I wear the same gear regardless of bike. But, on my commute, I've observed something interesting. On the Bonneville, as I approach cars while splitting, a few here and there will make an overt effort to move over to give me more room. But, on the CB, a significantly larger number of cars will move over.

The only view that cars have of me approaching is by looking in their right side view mirrors and seeing my lights. Based on this, I wonder if it would appear that the light pattern of the light triangle being spaced further apart may be more visible as a motorcycle than the more closely spaced lights.

Is anybody else having issues with the site besides me? I’m not sure how to describe it, when the site loads none of the usual color is there, all emojis are words, etc. It’s difficult to look at posts, this is the second time in the past two days...

Like an avid youtuber i came across a clip of the owner of an nice MV, what struck me was the damage to the aluminium base of the fuelpump assembly, this bike is 12 years old and had done a measly 5.000 Km. when the bike failed and stopped mid-stream.

The owner mentions that he left it for a long period before using it again.
It appears to me that water had accumulated in the bottom, possibly because it had mixed with fuel with an ethanol content ( water combines with the ethanol and sinks to the bottom, it can also be separated out this way to get rid of the ethanol ) looking at the dark "waterline" on the alu base which seems to be just at or below the lowest level the fuel pump suction intake.

Could be something to think about if bikes are left for a long time in storage with the new fuel mixes these days.

To test for ethanol take a sample from the tank, pour in a measured quantity of water and mix it with the fuel and see if the water/ ethanol mixture has increased the content in the bottom, some other good yt video's show this method to separate out the ethanol for long term storage purposes.

this is how I installed my tail bag to the little CB.. some of you may be interested in the finer details.. it has been on the bike for a year now, but more importantly I have removed it at least a dozen times.. I wanted the tail bag and drivers backrest to be removed easily when needed.. both have worked out very well.. I wanted to keep the tail bag kinda small, so it wouldn't overwhelm the size of my CB.. I like the looks of my bike naked, but i am not willing to sacrifice some of the niceties I felt were necessary..

So... Ive started looking through the threads for info and have seen some of the comments on changing out the speedo and issues to be aware of, specially with the ABS model, but I have not found an aftermarket tach/speedo yet... Any suggestions/experiences/links to previous mentions. I have the 2013 model with ABS... I will keep researching on my end, but I thought I'd learn from the wisdom of the Group.

Apologies if I've missed relevant threads, but I've searched and people seem to have had no issues with the PC V install. And the Dynojet video makes it look easier than two sips of G&T.

1) I really struggled to remove the "quick" release connector on the fuel tank. Also, I didn't realize that a couple of parts on the quick-release valve, once removed, need to be replaced. Is that an overabundance of caution in the service manual (as with the oil drain plug bolt) and I should be okay reusing the clamp and rubber washer? (I know they're not expensive, but another wait, which may be moot because of point 2, below.)

2) I just cannot find the room to route the PC V harness alongside the current wiring. The stock loom is so thick that I can't squeeze the PC V connectors under the left side frame to be able to run it along the fuel tank. I can't move the loom enough in any direction. Would I need to loosen the air filter box? It can't be easy nor recommended to remove the PC V connectors to route the harness?
