Being curious, while browsing the official HONDA "Parts Fiche" , I was wondering where can I see the interconnected information within a component.
For example; The CHARCOAL CANISTER page, in the picture there is an "F-21" an "E-23" preceded with an arrow as per attached picture.
Where can one find the "F-21" or "E-23" link?
Any idea?

Hi everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster. I have a standard 2014 CB1100 with 28k miles on the clock. I did a quick search on the forum, but didn't find anything similar.

For the past few weeks, I've noticed an intermittent "clunk" when I apply my rear brake at low speeds. After some trial and error I was able to isolate it to my rear caliper making contact with the swing arm. I was wondering if this behavior is normal?

I figure that this is what is going on. When I am stopped on an incline, and if I only engage my rear brake, my bike will slip backwards about a foot before it stops moving. Essentially, the rear caliper rotates counterclockwise, with the rear tire/disc, on the rear axle and it's movement is arrested by the brake lines . When I get moving again and apply the rear brake , the caliper comes forward (clockwise) all at once until it makes contact (clunk) with the portion of the swing arm that juts out (indicated with the arrow).

If I'm looking at everything right, the caliper only has one hard point, around the axle, where it's fixed to the bike. So there's nothing to stop the caliper from rotating counter clockwise. It looks like this is putting a huge amount of stress on my rear brake line. Is anyone else experiencing this? I torqued my rear axle nut to spec 69 ft-lbs today but I'm still having this same issue.

Any input is appreciated.

My new 2020 MX-5 Grand Touring, 6-spd manual, black soft top, black leather interior. Bought it yesterday.

Cancer robbed me of my first dream car, back in 2011. Had to unwind the deal and give the car right back to the dealership when I went on disability leave. My recent collision, when the idiot clobbered me while I was riding my Kawi Z900, robbed me of motorcycling. This is my way of reclaiming some of what life has taken from me.

I took it to my motorcycle roads up in the mountains last night. With the top down, it's fairly similar to riding a fast bike up there. The physical sensations aren't all that different. Same basic speeds in the twisties, albeit not on the freeway. There, the bikes tend to want to go much faster. In the mountains, however, this thing is just as fast as the bikes, only it does it much more safely, of course. Much better lighting, too. Plus, hey, similar to throwing on an extra liner when it gets cold while riding, here you just put the top up and/or hit the seat heaters.

Not the worst trade-off in the world, I have to say. The only definite downsides, vs a bike: no lane splitting; upkeep on that soft top; reduced fuel mileage; not as much of a physical workout.

Whole lotta obvious upsides.

So the Shorai charger was telling me there was a fault, instructions said to put in storage for 24 hours - but it refused to do so.

Blundered across a video on YouTube about the iMax B6 V3 charger (iMax B6 chargers are a whole 'nother topic with copy cats and forgers - its' target customer is the RC crowd). So I got on Amazon and got me one.

Now you need a "special" cable from the charger to the Shorai so you can balance the 4 cells in the Shorai. I used the cable from Shorai and the 6 cell port on the B6.

What is nice about the B6 is that it has a read out screen, and several functions you can tell it what to do (also, what type of battery, if it's a simple charge or you need to balance the cells first, voltage, amp and temp limits etc.).

Long story short I was able to balance the battery (and if I ever get a 4 cell to 4 cell cable I can properly read out how each cell is doing) and charge up the battery.

I picked up the SevenChip B6 V3 Smart Charger; which near as I can gather is a knock off from India. There are more; but it appears even the cheap knock offs will work fairly well. Legit ones are sold by SkyRC. All are considerably cheaper and much more useful than the Shorai branded charger.

The user interface is maddening, instructions are meh. So spend some time on YouTube to get a better feel for the charger.

......Gas!!!!!! Like an idiot I ran out today on Hwy 80, just outside Sacramento, in 90 degree heat that felt like 105 because of the time of year. Call Geico, the rep tells me refueling is not included with roadside service. I of course am furious, never would have guessed its not covered, and gave her a nice little talking to, poor girl. She tells me she can still get me help, puts me on hold, and comes back after about 8 minutes and tells me she found someone and it will be 90 bucks for someone to come and put gas in the bike. After picking up the pieces of my head after it explodes, I tell her theres no way im gonna do that, so then she puts me on hold again and tells me they will tow me to a gas station no charge, and asks me about my health regarding Covid. I 'm fine, had a mask, and was not too thrilled about sharing a truck cab with a driver but felt I had no choice. The truck comes after 45 minutes in the sun and the kid immediately grabs his gas can and says "I'll just give you gas it's a pain in the a** towing a bike" and of course I am DOWN with that! I offered him some $$ and he wouldnt take any but after the bike started I got off and insisted he take $15 which he did. So, yes i screwed up by running out (havent ridden in a while, forgot it was near empty never checked).

But no roadside service after running out of gas?
To all those who use Geico thought you should know, to all the others make sure you know what is covered!!!

Being locked-in for still a while, we have time to classify the photos of our past rides... Here are some:

February 16 ride: a trip to the Beaujolais vineyards (North of Lyon, France). Chirouble, Brouilly, Morgon, a little deserted even if it was not yet the lockdown!... On a winter Sunday, only in the Villié-Morgon cellar we have been able to buy a wine bottle "souvenir of the ride".

On March 2nd: Ronce-les-Bains, Charente Maritime (west coast of France), we visited a seaside resort on a day of great wind. Actually, we didn't remove helmet even when arriving at the beach.

No picture of the most windy moment, it was on the bridge over Seudre river; I had in mind a stop at top of the bridge, as road traffic is very weak at this time of year. But we didn't, as it was only by riding at least 20 or 30 mph that the bike was stable enough! Probably gusts at more than 50 mph when we were at the top of the bridge. I usually find the CB1100 not too sensitive to the side wind, but there it was memorable!

Hi all. New member here, but I have read the posts for years. I have a 2013 cb1100 that I bought new. The bike has 1600 miles on it and I pulled it out a couple days ago to go for a ride and the engine started making a knocking noise from the lower end on the right side. I shut it off and decided I should change the oil before I really start freaking out. Drained the oil and it was full of glitter, likely aluminum from the crank bearings I'm guessing since it didnt stick to a magnet. Changed the filter and fresh oil, and still knocks. Oddly enough when on the center stand it was quiet. But as soon as I left it on the side stand for a minuet it started knocking again. Once it starts knocking it doesnt matter if you stand it upright, still knocks. Just to see I checked the balancer adjuster, but that didnt change anything. Sounds to me a crank bearing is gone. Thoughts?

I do have an apptointment with my dealer for them to diagnose, so we shall see.

Quite sad whatever it ends up being on this. Also upsetting since I have cb750 engine that are 40+ years old with no issues and a couple of them sat for 15-20 years in a barn. My bike stays in a climate controlled basement all its life when not on the road.
