Howdy folks,

So i got tired of the strictly 80's look, and got tired of worrying about my shoddy signal brackets, and instead decided to swap things to something more reliable, sturdy, modern, and trim. edit: forgot to mention I also relocated my horns to the side orientation just under the headlight. now they sound to the left and right to alert people who don't check their blind spots, it's also a bit neater and more trim around the headlight.

mods: returned to the stock seat, swapped signals for smaller Aluminum casing signals from K&S, swapped tail light for smaller metal cased tail light, swapped MIZ tail from short rear fender from Samurider, swapped to 2017 style grab rail in Black, using a modified homemade bracket, which also houses the rear signals.





and here's a shot of the little bracket....it's very low profile. you almost can't tell it's there. i'm impressed with myself.



i gotta say, seeing it together, this seems like the way Honda should have set this bike up from stock. the '17 grab rail is just SO much better. the shorter rear fender and smaller lights are a big plus too. I think i found the aesthetic sweet spot for this bike.

The TT81 stands for my last call sign: Top Tiger 81, which is Top Tiger unit instructor pilot. I put this plate on my 2014 Valkyrie. The 59 X stands for 59 times the air medal on the left side of the plate. The TX GOV contractor made me send my DD214 before he would do the 59 X plate. I put this plate on my 2014 CB1100 DLX.

Did the site go down yesterday? I was getting server not responding errors from late yesterday afternoon until a few minutes ago. Or maybe it was just Verizon.

Does anybody have any experience with these handlebar risers? The website says to check cable length. Is it required to replace the cables with longer ones or could the factory cables be used?

I'm a rider not a shiner, so my CB1100 will never attain the sparkly standards of members like ride4now and others. However, having just had my fuel tank resprayed as part of the recovery package after the mud pack episode (see [url=http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=15248&pid=262991#pid262991]this shameless bit of self promotion), I'm curious about how I can maintain it in slightly better condition.

My problem is that my riding jeans leave marks on either side, low down at the back of the tank. They don't seem to come off easily. I've thought about knee pads, but, because of the angle of my stumpy wee legs, the marks are lower than the reach of a knee pad.

As a covid-19 service to those stuck inside, I wonder whether anyone has any suggestions?

Let me lay out some circumstances for those of you who may or may not have ever attempted to put an aftermarket rear brake light on your cb1100:

You have a Green/yellow wire, a Black/brown wire, and a Green wire.

The brake light has a Red wire and a Black wire.

So, the goal is to figure out which two wires attach to the Black and Red wires and which one is left unattached (the ground). Of course, we don't live in a world where wire colors make any sense or live by any form of consistency, so i thought "trial and error right?" wrong. I've now blown two fuses, i think i've tried every possible color combination in the universe, and I still can't figure out why this won't work.

The best result i've gotten and the only thing close to success: When attaching the green wire to the black and the Green/yellow wire to the Red, the brake switch activates and the light comes on. I've taken the red cover off so I can see the actual bulb filament ignite.

When I swap these wires to their opposite positions, the brake flasher switch STILL works in the exact same manner, and the same bulb filament ignites.

I have never succeeded in getting the bulb to light up when the black/brown wire is attached at any position.

The bulb, upon visual inspection, appears to be in perfect working order, both filaments.

CB1100 forum: WHAT DO I DO?

As I sit here in lockdown, one of the things I've been considering is changing the turn signals/indicators on my CB1100EX.

The factory ones are very large and very orange - which is of course in keeping with the 1970's, but not necessarily the bike's best feature IMO...

I have been looking at the Rizoma iRide in chrome...



The Rizoma lens is 35mm diameter, compared with the OEM Honda lens at about 65mm so these would look less obtrusive and also have clear lenses and LED lights.

Total cost for all 4 would be about £250 so I'm keen to hear/see any experience before I go any further.

Anyone help me out?

I’m always checking eBay but there never seems to be a lot to choose from,I do know with the scarcity of the bike that’s understandable but there should be more used parts out there. Am I looking in the wrong area on eBay?

Finally secured all the parts to complete my upgrades to my 2013 CB1100 standard. With a great deal of luck and fellow CB1100 owner from Finland I was able to secure a complete Deluxe/EX exhaust system on Ebay. Ordered the 2014 Deluxe seat and small OEM parts from Partzilla and after waiting a few weeks for exhaust system to come from Finland (shipped right during the Corona virus ) I was able to finish the project. Total cost for the conversion:

CB1100 $3,600 (June 2019)
Deluxe Seat $ 277
Deluxe Exhaust $ 877
OEM Small Parts $ 46

Total Cost $4,800

I was blessed to be able to do these mods for $1,200, while not cheap, far less than buying all new oem parts. The exhaust system looked brand new as the prior owner of the 2016 EX has upgraded to Moriaki 4/4.

Never having to polish the "tarnish" off the original pipes again is priceless!!!

Yes the center stand is gone and there a few details missing from "Ron in Mo" thread on his conversion. The kickstand has to be modded to retract fully and you need to buy a plug $4 for the left side OXY sensor port. Everything fit like a glove and total time spent about 2 hours.

Hi guys, for motorcycle that are going for a month long no ride, is it better to cover the bike up or do a daily warm up idling? I had been riding almost everyday since i own the bike until recent covid19 outbreak and forced to use car. For the last 2 weeks, i had been warming up the bike every other day for about 5 minutes each time. But felt the exhaust had been going richer each time i let her idle. And most important of all, my neighbor are going crazy with lock down and every time i start the bike she go berserk and slam her door (no rev, just idling, and low 80-90ish DB exhaust only, but she couldn't take it.). I live in a hot and humid weather condition, and thought a warming up is better than a covered up. So, should i continue to do short time idling? or just take out the battery and cover up the bike?
