A few rides before being locked-in... - Delphisa - 04-23-2020

Being locked-in for still a while, we have time to classify the photos of our past rides... Here are some:

February 16 ride: a trip to the Beaujolais vineyards (North of Lyon, France). Chirouble, Brouilly, Morgon, a little deserted even if it was not yet the lockdown!... On a winter Sunday, only in the Villié-Morgon cellar we have been able to buy a wine bottle "souvenir of the ride".

On March 2nd: Ronce-les-Bains, Charente Maritime (west coast of France), we visited a seaside resort on a day of great wind. Actually, we didn't remove helmet even when arriving at the beach.

No picture of the most windy moment, it was on the bridge over Seudre river; I had in mind a stop at top of the bridge, as road traffic is very weak at this time of year. But we didn't, as it was only by riding at least 20 or 30 mph that the bike was stable enough! Probably gusts at more than 50 mph when we were at the top of the bridge. I usually find the CB1100 not too sensitive to the side wind, but there it was memorable!
Here is a picture of the Seudre bridge, thanks to Wikimedia Commons

Very good knowledge of french cars of the 70s, Peterbaron! Clap
Nowadays, few people can identify a Renault 12 from front view, even here in France...

Two other pictures series I had in my camera :

On March, 3rd : we had a look at "Marais de Lande", a small agricultural valley, in west of France, near by Rochefort and La rochelle. Each year it is a little bit flooded during a part of winter and/or spring. This year the flooded area was very large, nearly a lake...

Just before beginning of lock-down, mid of March 15: In Reviremont area (between Jura mountains and the Bresse plateau).

In addition to a great ride on beautiful roads, the CB1100 climbed a few miles on a very small unpaved road... 1st gear, about 15 mph (a little bit less when crossing flangeways), no problem! It was borderline, though. Atop the road we met some offroad bikes, quite better adapted to the place...

An interesting bridge over Ain river : road at first level, and railway crossing upstairs:

In the early seventies I had a Renault 4 , loved that car : I am glad that cars do not talk as I had a lot of "fun" in/with that car.
