Hi all, in Australia the CB comes with a low seat as std. I am finding this a little too low and would like to try the slightly higher std seat that the US spec bikes are fitted with. Can anyone tell me where I would be best to go to purchase one of these from the US that offers international delivery. Or maybe someone has one available that didn`t suit them? Any assistance appreciated.

i went to look at a job today for my company in brooklyn. growing up in the bronx, brooklyn was like a foreign country to me (hey mister, do i need my passport to cross that bridge?). but after working around the city for the last 40 years i have come to appreciate the boro. like a fine wine it has matured and grown with age. anyway, i ended up on the waterfront in the park and i took this photo of the cb1100 with the brooklyn bridge and freedom tower in the background.

i then rode across the brooklyn bridge and rode down to freedom tower to get a closer look.

it was a great morning.

Our family had an Oregon coast trip planned for a few months now. I ended up riding the CB1100, which allowed the rest of my family to get a head start and I had a nice bike ride to look forward to when I got out of work on Friday. The coast isn't that far away from Portland, but by the time I got done wandering around, I ended up riding for about 260 miles this weekend and I enjoyed my time on the CB immensely. Mother Nature decided to weep on me the first day, from top of the coast range pass all the way down to the coast. The Bridgestone tires did nice on the damp road surfaces. I took Highway 26 from Portland to Cannon Beach and then I followed Highway 101 down into Manzanita where we stayed. Today was absolutely beautiful out. I could not have picked a more perfect day to ride. I cruised back up 101 to get some video in the sunshine and then I rode back down 101 to Highway 53 for some non-stop twisties until it brought me back to 26 and then on homeward back to Portland.

The CB1100 was a great travelling partner. Easily passing other vehicles in 5th gear when needed and it goes down the highway with such ease. Coming back home, I started to get a better feel for flicking it around through the tight stuff and I had a blast. I had no problems at all with the ergonomics nor with the seat. I like the way pretty much everything is set up at the moment. The bike represents a very comfortable fit for me and a very nice ride overall.

I just picked up a chest harness for my GoPro and wish I had a chance to use it before this ride. The angle is set a bit low. But hey, you do get a great extended look at the beautiful piece of sculpture that is the CB1100 fuel tank.

I've searched for one, to no avail.

If one exists, and it's been around for 2 to 3 years, it could prove helpful to us. A treasure trove of info, particulalrly on accessories and, my pet project, aftermarket 4-4 exhaust.

Anybody know, or have a link?

Just a heads up, you might check your rear axle nut torgue prior to your 600 mile service. I did mine just for giggles today and found it to be about 10 to 15 lbs too loose. I also found my oil drain plug was a few pounds too loose. Don't know if it makes that much difference, but it's better to test than be sorry later. I have 350 miles on mine.

Does anyone know the color of the wire {hot} going to the rear brake? I have some LEDs on a hard box mounted on the luggage rack and want to wire them in.

Yesterday I was in Dahlonega GA and stumbled upon three (3!) CB1100's and their respective owners hanging out at [url=http://www.ridershill.com/]Rider's Hill ! This is the first time I had ever seen this beautiful machine. Two of the gents had purchased them at [url=http://www.lhyonline.com/]Lawrenceville Honda Yamaha. I figure there can't be more than 10-20 in GA, so this is a rare sighting indeed! I took this video as proof!




I'm hoping to purchase one to replace my CB250 soon

Like many I wanted a rack for my CB but didn't really want to fork over $250 or so for one. This is a retro bike---where could I get a retro luggage rack? I'm sure everyone knows of a shop that works on old machines and they should have some old racks. Sure enough, I went to Sandy Run Cycles near Shelby NC, Rick works mainly on old Brit iron but has done Jap bikes as well. In his shed we found 4 old racks, 2 would fit so I took the better looking one. He threw in the sissy bar! So look around guys and gals, there are thousands of these out there in old shops, garages, etc.

I need to install a power outlet so I can power my phone as a GPS unit.
I also have a set of driving lights I will probably install at some point. Not sure if I need a direct wire or use a relay. Also considering a baterry tender in the future. I have never installed any accessories in the past. My goal is to install a set up so Ii can add accessories in the future and not have to redo the entire ste up. I have looked at powerlet accessories ($$$$, I have investigated adding a small fuseblock with a relay.

looking for some pros and cons of the systems anyone has used in the past that would be easily expandable as needs arise.
